A lot of people mistake it for a BA Stout, but yeah, screw that guy. Also, now that I know he's involved with LetsPour, his articles always come off as advertisements.

Too bad he didn't mention Pike's Entire Wood Aged Stout. It's really nice.

    It's not surprising
    random list of northwest beers
    Ninety nine points each

Also should point out the east side of the state ignored as usual. If only there were a brewery in Spokane that could step up and age some beers in small batch artisan spirit barrels.

That Entire Wood Aged Stout is KILLER. I was thoroughly surprised after the mediocre first attempt in 09. That one was infected and exploded out of the bottle as pure foam. The new one is rich with great whiskey flavor, etc.

On Fremont: "in five to seven years, if they stay hungry and keep trying to make everything better, they’ll certainly be in a league with Deschutes and Hopworks and Ninkasi and Hair of The Dog in the top tier of Northwest brewing".

It's going to take Fremont five to seven years to be in league with Hopworks and Ninkasi? Fremont has had those two beat for some time in my opinion - and it's not even close. Ninkasi?

I've got two more Tough Loves hanging out in the garage... excited to crack one in a few months and see what it's doing.

How about missing that Old School House Imperial Stout. I practically have to choke down Ninkasi.

Oh, Fremont, listen up...you guys are almost in the big leagues! Keep hope alive..

I will, again, refuse to read his stuff. But let me guess: Whatever stout Reuben's Brews has released is at the top of his list. Amirite?

You sure you didn't take a peek? First paragraph after the intro begins:

"I’ve already showered Reuben’s Brews with enough praise to make both owner/brewmaster Adam Robbings and me blush, so I’ll be brief here: the Reuben’s Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout, as served at the first anniversary of their debut, was one of the five or ten best Stouts I have ever tasted from anywhere."

The one time I've ever been to Reuben's, I'm pretty sure I saw Steve Body/vinella sitting at the table adjacent to ours. I had their imperial oatmeal stout and thought it was excellent.

    I really didn't peak --- I avoid him like I avoid BMC.

It is possible that Reuben's Brews may have mentioned something on their Facebook page, but I don't pay much attention to their page. I'm not a big fan of their stuff. [EDIT: I just looked at their page and they did reference something about it but it didn't say they were tops.]

That BB Stout was absolutely exceptional - deserves all the praise any fool wants to give it. That said, whenever the bottles are released, all of you guys best stay out of Ballard...

Hey, he's the expert (he always makes that very, verly clear in his articles). Who are we to complain or to suggest other, possible worthy candidates (clearly they aren't actually worthy or he would have mentioned them)?

Shrug. At this point I feel as if I know what to expect whenever I see one his reviews and/or articles. It's why I don't bother to read them.

At least he kind-of credited me when he threw in my Untappd pic of the Reuben's Brews stout.
Would've been nice if he'd asked first.
