I used 2 x 4's and 2 x 6's for mine. Took an afternoon to put together. I drew up the plans to fit my cold cellar. You can have them if you want, just customize for your space.

They are on there without issue, however you have to make sure you space them properly on the wire shelves or they tip over.

My real concern is that knocking into the shelves would likely cause things to start tipping over, despite that the shelves have adjustable feet on the corners and are quite stable.

Man, I wish I had a basement. Look at all the breathing room those beers have in some of your shelving units. I have crammed as many beers as humanly possible into my 4.7L "beverage center" and I have 2 boxes of beer in semi-warm storage (65-70F), which isn't actually storage at all - they are sitting next to my night stand in the bedroom, which is the only air conditioned room in the apartment. The girlfriend isn't really a fan of this. The remainder go into the main fridge so I'd hardly say I'm aging those.

Maybe I need to consume faster.

These are largely made up of trades from the great people i have met here on ba. Hope to get a climate controlled celler in the next 6 months or so

My big wine fridge is having condensation where the labels are wearing. I took some bottles out to do some inventory while I shop replacement fridges. Really starting to have too many beers as this is about half the cellar...

Found out that if I put a 1x3 in the back of my freezer door shelves I can fit 750's 90% upright.

So I started out with the following "ingredients" in an effort to convert an old chest freezer that was in my basement into a beer cellar:

    Temperature Controller Supplies:

    Chest Freezer (Outside):

    Chest Freezer (Inside):

After a few evenings, the following is what came out of the recipe above:

Functional STC-1000 Temperature Controller. Currently set to 12.5 degrees celsius, with a 1 degree celsius variation:

    Chest Freezer Inside, Shelving Installed:

Chest Freezer Inside, Shelving Installed, Top Shelf on Left removed:

    Finally, Beer in Cellar:

Overall it was a pretty straight forward project, overall cost of maybe $80-$100, keeping in mind I had the Chest Freezer to start with... Still need to pick up some damprid to control moisture and a thermometer which will give me a humidity reading inside the cellar.

    Let me know you're thoughts!

Has anyone ever had issues with humidity in a frostless upright freezer? I have two of them regulated to ~55F. I haven't noticed any molding, wet labels, or rusty bottle caps. Is there something else I should be looking for?

You could fit a lot more if you did away with that bottom shelf!
