Pumpkin beer recommendations?

don't really know my favorite, but a new one to the scene is Two Roads - Roadsmary's Baby. Its pretty damn good.

 

Stevens Point Whole Hog Pumpkin by far.

 

I would have to say Almanac Pumpkin Barleywine. Just tried tonight and was deeeeeeeeelicious.

 

Not a pumpkin fan at all. I don't know, maybe I am missing something?

 

Schlafly was the first I ever had some years ago. Pumking took the crown two years ago when Southern Tier showed up in Kentucky. But last night I had the pleasure of trying Cigar City's Good Gourd and thoughit was the best yet. Almost like a perfect blend of the two but with a unique spice character.

 

DFH Punkin, Weyerbacher, Elysian Night Owl, Pumking.

Question: When does (approximate date/month) Elysian release Dark o The Moon and the rest of their pumpkin brews. I tried to post a new forum on ISO: FT, but it said I had insufficient priviledges... I just did an in-person trade last week and it was very successful. Any reason why this could be?

 

This is my first season paying attention to the style at all. So far I have found that I have really liked Dogfish Punkin' Ale and Devil's Backbone Ichabad Crandall. I haven't yet gotten to try more than a few, but I will soon.

I'm not much of a Pumpkin beer fan, but I has a chance to taste a little bit of Good Gourd at the BASC release, to my untrained palate the best Pumpkin beer I've had. Still a ton of spice for me and drinking a whole pour I'm not so sure about.

 

For me, the ultimate Pumpkin Beer is Smuttynose.

I tried Pumking, thought it sucked. If I'm gonna drink a pumpkin beer, I want to taste the PUMPKIN, not get slapped in the face with a shaker full of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Smuttynose Pumpkin is just fantastic. Strong, discernible pumpkin taste, light on the spices, well-hopped. An all-around fantastic brew.

 

Anyone know of a list of Imperial and BA Pumpkin beers on the market? One, I'm curious. Two, I'd like to add them to this list bpgpitt10 and I created. If no list already exists, can we start one here?

I don't know of a list, but you may want to add Blue Mountain Brewery BA Pumpkin beer called "Spooky". I had it the other night, it's decent. Here's the cover:

 

Good Gourd Almighty (rum ba good gourd). I think it comes out in oct or nov

Elysian The Great Pumpkin (8.1%)

Avery Rumpkin (and at 18.1%, also an Imperial)

Damn good Pumpkin Stout that tastes better with age.
