Awesome beer crowdfunding alert! Bison Brewing has a Winnebago which they are converting into a mobile taproom to sell beer at community events. It is a food truck, but for beer, and all the $$$ goes to charity. It is also going to be solar and biodiesel to help promote being green. Not only is the idea cool, but the perks from donating are actually incentives! None of this "donate $50 and we will give you a pint glass and a sticker" bullshit. Essentially, you get credit for your donation back in beer from the truck when it is operational. $5 gets you two free beers (BOGO) $10 gets you three free beers (BOGO) and a taster $500 gets you 100 free beers Other cool perks, too. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-beer-wagon
Brew Truc already exists, same idea, same limitations on how, where and when they can serve: http://www.yelp.com/biz/brew-truc-san-francisco
Read the perks, the $500 deal is a private party. 2-hour mobile beer bash on your private property for a group of up 50 people (or 100 drink coupons).
Not really. Brew Truc is a party bus that you can rent to ride around in. This is a food truck, but for beer and for charity.
I take it you're involved with the company? Personally, I'd call BOGO coupons "bullshit" incentives - at least a free pint glass doesn't require me to spend more money.
No, neither company mentioned in this thread. I have strong doubts about the sustainability of Brew Truc's business model and the legality of what they are doing under ABC regs. It seems like an idea that was not thought through before someone sunk a bunch of cash into it. If I owned it, I would be trying to sell it to a brewery ASAP. I am fine with a couple of BOGO coupons as (a) I am going to buy beer anyway and (b) I usually drink with friends or simply want two beers.
