...meh, I tend to keep trying new barley wines to find "the one", but this one is just not for me....She's out there though, I know it

 

Thoroughly enjoyed Bigfoot, so decided to give another barley wine a go.

 

I'm certainly no expert, seeing as how I've had a whopping two now.. but Sierra Nevada's Bigfoot was recommended to me and I really enjoyed it.

This was an "interesting" one, that's for sure (just finished it).

 

Last night in Salisbury so I went to Evolution with my crew for dinner. As usual, the food was pretty good but not outstanding, the service was good and the beer was moderately above average, ranging from good to very good.

There, I had a pint of Rise Up Stout, a half-pint of Lot 6, and now in the hotel I'm nursing a bottle of Lot 6. Bottled in July and while it's still good, it's maybe 70% what it is fresh and on tap (which is outstanding, like 4.25-4.5 range).

 

Finally fresh West Coast IPA. I emailed my concerns about a lack of fresh West Coast in the Lakes Region and they listened. Thanks and sorry to the reps, but old IPAs don't sell to the beer dorks, so old beer sits. I also emailed Firestone and fresh Union and Double Jack is finally flowing again! Awesome customer service. If you are going to spend $11 on a 4 or 6 pack, it should be the way your fine brewers want it to taste!

Great to know! So much Green Flash here is old. I love West Coast. One of my fellow beer nerds said Rayon Vert is one of his favorites, but the one I had tasted a bit off. Perhaps I will try your approach.
