Why don't more Craft Breweries make bottles with twist off tops? Are the not as effective, cost more or something. It getting annoying looking for a bottle opener all the time.Yes I am lazy but more has to do with I forget where I put it after my 3rd or 4th and end up using the lock on the screen door by the end of the nite.

But why don't they. Even big craft breweries like Sam and Sierra don't use twist offs.

Eh, you get used to opening bottles with random things, I've even used folded up paper, or another bottlecap, but that one hurts.

Shush don't tell any one, I use the non-twist offs for bottling my own beer.

I think it's mostly because the whole aesthetic of streamlining the drinking process smacks of BMC. Therefore, many associate a twist-off with low quality. The stereotype does seem pretty accurate; most of the craft beers I've had that were twist-offs were sub-par.

Yes, with the special barrier pry off caps, SN reduced O2 ingress by a factor of 20. Less O2 in = longer shelf life.

I don't dig those thin threaded bottle tops and the slim sealing surface they provide. Just cap the SOB like a man would and know that it's good.

Besides the fact that they suck?

edit: Also, pick up smoking then you will always have a lighter on you than can function as a bottle opener in a pinch :sunglasses:

Have to keep a supply scattered around the house: kitchen drawer under glassware cabinet, wall mounted in garage next to beer fridge, mounted on deck next to my chair, family room end table drawer, night stand, key ring, shaving kit when traveling, next to the wine rack and my big beer glasses in the dining room...

I always have one on me...my wedding ring. Works great! Of course mine is tungsten carbide. Note: I wouldn't recommend this with a gold ring. The metal is just too soft.
