Sounds good. Not sure how much drinking I'll do there, but if they stuff on draft along with bottles available I'll certainly try before I buy.

Thanks again for all the help. With SkyCity being totally booked I'm also now able to try out that Brouwers Cafe. Looking forward to getting out to Seattle agian.

SkyCity? Eh, you aren't missing much. Decent food, but way overpriced IMHO. Far better, more interesting restaurants around town to choose from, although none of them rotate with a 360° view of the city. But it will probably be raining and you wouldn't be able to see much anyway.

Why? Hood River is the crown jewel of the Washington beer scene.

Naked City. Big Time. And, with the usual caveats about potentially crappy service, Brouwers.

Thanks for the caveat. Will order two glasses each, that's my strategy

Was doing some more research for my trip, and found something on the AHA site that I found rather interesting. They mentioned they aren't allowed to promote Seattle breweries and most/all aren't allowed to participate in the AHA discount program? That seems really lame if thats the case.

Just wondering because of not being able to promote on the site, they list it that way? Or do breweries out there really not offer AHA discounts?

Correct, no AHA discounts at WA breweries.

It is illegal in the state of Washington to offer a discount on alcoholic beverages to any specific group. The discount has to be for everybody or nobody.

I run a homebrew club and found this out when we had events at pubs. The pub owners could give us happy hour pricing the whole time, but that meant that anyone who came into the pub had to get the same pricing.

Aw when it comes to "crazy" used to describe alcohol laws, that one doesn't come to mind . . .

But make sure Bambino's does not shut the door in your face during "open" hours and tell you to come back later as I had happen to me...

Yeah if Brouwer's got a warning of bad service in this thread, Bambino's needs some flashing warnings in huge red font.

But really, Fremont and Brouwer's are the must hit places.

Anecdote, FWIW. Back in February I was searching around town for a bottle of Peche 'n Brett, and the cause was starting to look hopeless. BA member Bambinos kindly reached out to me and hooked me up, and then when I showed up at the restaurant (which was technically closed, but she unlocked the door for me) she surprised me with a bonus bottle of something even more rare, in addition to the PnB.

Your mileage may vary, but Belle (Bambinos) was more than generous and a righteous Beer Advocate on at least one occasion. That is all.
