All of the RB ratings appear to be from 2009 which may have been a different batch or at least a much younger version. It looks like the BA ones are for the recent release, so the ratings disparity doesn't mean much.

 

Yeah, I don't know how big they think their area is, but Special Brews definitely got it. I watched the case come in.

Tried it, like it ok. Probably not gonna buy any though

 

I was there yesterday and didn't see it - did they keep it behind the counter?

Special Brews received one case, have to ask for it at the register. They are not putting it out on the floor.

 

That "Westvleteren yeast" is actually Westmalle yeast.

 

99 Bottles got what looks 5 cases. I picked up two bottles.

 

Had my first bottle tonight and found it pretty damn fantastic. It was very much like a Flanders style sour. Did get those burnt sugar notes along with toffee. And plenty of residual sugars which is odd for how old this is. But all in all I enjoyed it more than say a la folie or some of the typical shelf Flanders reds and browns. Loved the wine barrel character and cherry and grape flavors. Should continue age gracefully (still) for years to come.

Chucks had about 8 bottles left at 6 PM Friday night. Bottleworks might be getting more in next week.

You've just inspired me to open up a Three Floyds Tiberian Inquisitor at the bottle share at the end of the month. A beer that people either like or hate. Generates good discussion.

I heard places down there had it earlier in the week. Same with AZ.

 

Now 1 left, I bought one more. Strange how it's $2 cheaper there than it was at the Deschutes Pub in Portland. $16 compared to $18.

 

I was surprised also. That's so far from the norm.

 

Of course I got Bois at 15.99 there also. That one got corrected.

 

Understandable... I'm loving my time here (been here 3 days, leaving monday afternoon)! I cant get enough of the AMAZING beer selection just a short walk from my hotel!
