Well nearly every other regional forum has a Zwanze thread so we may as well.

Six Degrees North (Aberdeen) have the following Loons on and are doing the commemorative glass thing. 100 tickets released at £40 each, 1/3rd pint measures of each.
    -Zwanze Cureghem
    -Gueuze
    -Vignerone
    -Saint Lamvinus
    -Kriek

    -Rose de Gambrinus

Brewdog Aberdeen are also putting on various sours over the weekend.

Earl of Essex- just the Zwanze on and turn up on the day.

I will be at the Earl. Super excited. Not sure of what the turnout will be.

The keg had gone after about 1 hour last year so just ensure you are there at 8pm and you should be good!

I will be there an hour early. Thanks for the tip!

I am new to the area. Is Spa Terminus with Kernal, Partizan and Beer by Numbers my best bet for brewery fun in the morning?

Yeah, last year at the Earl of Essex was great. No queues or crowds. Most of the patrons weren't drinking Zwanze so the keg lasted about an hour. The other Belgian beers on tap weren't that exciting though.

Yeah, I asked recently and they said there are no other loons on draft.

Yes a few of my friends are going there first in the morning as it happens. Kernel and BBNo are right around the corner from each other. Partizan is about another 5-10min walk.

Craft Beer Co Islington is really close to the Earl of Essex and worth checking out either before or after the Zwanze event.

Wenlock Arms and The Old Fountain are more traditional pubs with decent beer selections that are walkable from EoE.

Apols if this is a dumb question. How did they burn through a keg in an hour selling 1/3rd pints if it wasn't that busy? Was it only a 20 litre?

What do I need to look out for at Kernel, Partizan, BBNo? I am new here from the states and still getting my beer bearings. Also, thanks for the pub advice. Craft beer co was great when I went.

None of them produce regular beer lines. They all experiment like crazy with different hops, styles and other ingredients so it's hard to suggest going for anything in particular. It just depends what's there on the day.

However very broadly speaking Kernel excel at IPAs, pale ales and porter/stouts (they have a couple of great whisky BA stouts at the moment). Partizan are particularly known for their saisons. BBNo are great at berliner weisses, saisons and golden ales. They've also fairly recently started doing IPAs which I'm a big fan of.

Earl of Essex was packed but no issues getting a few 1/3rds. Beer itself was alright but I suppose it's more about the event and meeting up with pals.

Here's the Untappd badge for anyone that missed it.

I went to Zwanze Day at Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fà in Rome and the 20 litres went in under 20 minutes
