Having attended the great event at WLV last year, just thought I would throw this in here for comparison purposes - this is the information released for the event at Brouwer's Cafe in Seattle, WA. I'm currently on the fence about attending out here. Granted, no admission price, but I would gladly pay the $50 for the glass and pours at WLV (even with taplist unannounced) compared to $6 for the glassware and $44 in pours from the beers listed below.

    From Brouwer's Cafe website:
We have amassed 20 or so sour beers for your imbibing pleasure. Due to the nature of this event and the rarity of Zwanze, we anticipate that there will be a line, how early we don’t know. In an effort to reward those of you that line up before the doors open at 11am we are planning on handing out numbered buttons 1-140 (that you can keep) and a raffle ticket that guarantees you the ability to purchase Zwanze when we tap it at noon. The first 3 people in line will receive a special door prize. Please do not cut the line, or hold spaces in line, we will do our best to enforce line cutting, but ask that you be respectful and not engage in this behavior. All the other beers tapped in honor of this event will be available at the time that we open.
At noon when we start pouring Zwanze we will try to deliver them in ascending order to those folks that have a ticket and a button. Please be patient with us.
There will be Zwanze T-shirts and commemorative glassware for sale at this event. Shirts will be $20 and glassware will be $6.
    We will be pouring:
    Cantillon-- Zwanze
    Cantillon --St Gilloise
    Cantillon-- Geueze
    De Ranke-- XXX Bitter
    New Belgium-- La Folie
    Port/Lost Abbey—Red Poppy
    Port/Lost Abbey—Frambiose De Ambrosa
    Russian River—Temptation
    Cascade—The Vine
    Petrus-- Aged Pale
    Snipes-- Quincenera Andrea
    Commons/De Garde—Ortucky Common
    American Brewing-- Stupid Sexy Flanders
    Rodenbach Grand Cru
    Bokor Cuvee de Jacobins
    Elysian Comtesse
    Elysian Krokus
    Black Raven --- Corvus Kriekus
    Bear Republic—Tartare
And possibly a few others that are yet to be determined…

Just moved out of Chicago at the end of June. :slight_frown: Chicago is sorely missed, though Seattle is nice in its own right.

Don't forget to mention that it was professionally bartended last year by the gentlemen from FFF.

EDIT: They also DJ'd the music at the Roscoe Village Pub, which was an extra special treat.

Does most of it go on tap at noon? Can you show up and just get a few drafts without getting the $50 glass for the Zwanze pour?

It was spaced out incredibly well throughout the day. Most notably some of Laffler's creations went on later in the day around 6 or 7pm. I showed up after Zwanze was kicked and still had a great time.

you've got to get the glass. afaik, they don't sell the drafts a la carte. and yes, they are spaced out over the course of the day between wlv itself and the bar across the street.

Ok cool so the $50 glass gets you a pour of Zwanze and Iris and then the other drafts you pay per each?

Can you get into the store or bar at all tomorrow without a sampling glass?

If I recall correctly from last year, yes you can get into the store but you can't sample any beers. I believe they weren't letting anyone without a wristband/glass in the bar across the street last year.

Was planning on bringing an Olvalde Bourbon Cask-Aged Ode and SeVIIn, but talked to the store earlier this evening, and the guy said that bringing any bottles into the store for a bottle share will not be allowed this year. Anyone else hear anything on this?
