Anyone know what's going on with this place? Its website and voicemail both cite the hours as being 11am-10pm almost every day, but whenever I walk by (usually between 6:00 and 8:00), it's closed. It doesn't look closed for good (plenty of product can be seen through the dark window), but I did notice their Facebook and Twitter accounts haven't been updated in awhile. What gives?

I just moved away from the WV to Brooklyn a couple of months ago. But before then, I did drop by on occasion. The place definitely had that smell of decay you get when businesses are on the verge of folding. I.e. in this case less and less bottles, and more and more gimmicky attempts to drum up business (plus seemingly new staff every time I went in). My b-in-law who lives a couple blocks away told me it had finally closed down. Not sure he got that officially or just from walking by and seeing it shut as you've mentioned.

Anyway if you haven't been before you're not missing anything at all.

I walked by on Sunday afternoon and it was closed. Looked to me like they had just closed up shop. Through the window all the coolers but one looked empty, and it looked as if no one had been inside for a couple days. Also noticed that it seemed many businesses were closed on this particular block.

I think a combination of poor location, high prices, and poor marketing did this place in.

Since it's a franchise operation, if you really want to hear it from a reliable source, go to the website and contact the main office.

Closed for good. Got a text from Paul the manager a couple of months back. He's not an owner but got the phone call to jump ship.

Never been to this place, but I remember a big commotion on here and Facebook with some exorbitant prices. Was this the place? If so, what was the situation?

Never saw what was mentioned on facebook, but I think to begin with they were pretty off the chart on some of the limited releases.

The worst I saw was BCBS. From what I remember when it was first released last year they were trying to sell it for $15 a bottle. When they realized that NYC was flooded with the stuff though, the prices quickly came down.

Interesting. Thanks, guys. I've never been but guess it's good to hear I'm not missing much. I feel bad for the staff, though. It looks like they're still paying rent on the space.

If you're looking for growers and/or bottles in the area, you should check out carmine street beers at 52 carmine. Good selection and a friendly staff. And they love taking requests for new beers they should get in.

I worked for them, Too many owners who spent very little time at their business. I knew it was only a matter of time
