Fou Foune 2013 rumors?

This year's release is only for Cantillon's new club members. Essay required for entrance/purchase. 2 bottles/person.

I made a phonecall 3 days ago with Jean from Cantillon and he said that they have bottled foufoune that day ( thursday or wednesday ) and that foufoune will be released in about 2 or 3 weeks.
So lets say somewhere in the beginning of october.
He also clearly said that there is a maximum of 6 bottles a person.

Same story for the lou pepe kriek , was also bottled a few days ago , will be released around the same time like FF and max.6 a person !
Reason for the max. of 6 for the LPK is that they didn't have enough cherries this year, they order much more but didn't receive that much, so only around 3000 bottles are made of LPK.

Probably this means 6 bottles of FF for Belgians and Americans need to buy 3 bottles of regular cantillon to obtain 1 FF. I can live with that ;-)

Had Fou Foune 2013 on cask at Moeder Lambic Fontainas on Friday. Glorious.

 

When 50N4E was released it was 6 bottles for everyone. I saw plenty Americans buy 6.
Later on they changed it to the current rule, it applies to everyone, regardless of your country of origin.

When Fou’ Foune will be released in 2 weeks, it will be 6 for everyone.
This may change later on depending on the supply etc.

 

That was actually the non-refermented base. It was incredible.

 

They announced the release of Fou Foune and others today.

Anybody know when to expect these in the US?

 

Also Mamouche (6 bottle limit) has been released together with Lou Pepe Kriek (3 bottle limit)
Fou Foune is also a 6 bottle limit.

 

Can you help a brother out?

Gonna be at Cantillon mid November. How long does FF last? Think I have a chance at picking some up for take-away?

 

I feel your pain, I left just Brussels on Sunday morning, talk about butt hurt.

 

Oh yeah. I was in Brussels at the end of November last year and there was plenty of Foune to drink there, take away, and was available for much more at the bottle shops and bars around town.
Don't overlook Lou Pepe Kriek. Mindblowingly good.

 

will be there this saturday with 3 persons. So hopefully we can take back enough Fou Foune and LP Kriek.

 

Thanks for the heads up. Planning on purchasing a suitcase in Brussels to haul back what I can. If Lou Pepe Kriek is available it will be in the suitcase

 

Where was this release announced ?

I was at the brewery on Thursday afternoon and he told me mid Ocotber at the earliest, possibly late October.

They had tried a bottle a few days previously and it wasn't ready.
