Thanks! Too bad I've been warned for having fun in a thread and would have serious issues with overmoderating (with a sprinkling of bias against certain people). I'd be the poster child of why they shouldn't choose someone from the trading ranks.

I wanted to give my vote for you to be a mod but I know you are very busy.

I think that having a mod who understands and participates in the trade forums would be important. The exact same response in two situations that could seem similar to a non-trader might be drastically different. I can't think of another forum that explicitly tries to get someone who is not part of a community to moderate it. I think that can only lead to problems, misunderstandings, and upset users.

I would be happy to mod, though I doubt I would be chosen, but I think that consistent, active, and fair moderation is important and I am glad you guys are finally getting some user mods for the forums.

Also, as a side note, I really like the way that the timeout was given to Crawfordesquire with an explicit reason and that timeout is connected to a specific post. I think tying punishments to actions more publicly will encourage people to follow the rules (if they are so inclined) because they know what to avoid. People may disagree with the specific action taken, but the facts are there.

I'd like to see this warning option used more often so we can see what is considered 'trolling' and deserving of account restriction. (Assuming that is actually a legitimate warning flag from BA)

I noticed a "warning" symbol on top of the post here. Is this a public notification of a warning the bros give out? Just curious is all.

Thanks. Didn't know that. Shows you how many times I've gotten one.

FT: 2 of my ISO/FT posts each week. ISO: Your extras from those trades.

As you can see, there are loopholes. This could be done in private.

Yes, that's an example of a public warning. We don't do those often as the content rarely deserves to be left up.

What percentage of 'Reports' in the trade forum have you been taking action on with a deletion?

Huh, I've gotten one notice from you about a deleted post and it was pretty vague, I didn't have any memory of what I said in the thread and the thread was deleted so I couldn't figure out that way. Maybe that's an edge case because my memory is terrible and I post a lot, but I know for sure I had absolutely no idea why my post was deleted.

Your lack of memory is not my problem.

Fair enough, but would it be possible to automatically add the content of the post to the warning? I can't be the only senile old man here. (Or whatever it was I got, I seem to not have the BM in my inbox any more.)

Nearly everything that gets reported is deleted and/or issued a warning, but the number of reports is way down compared to the old forum.

I think saying it doesn't deserve to br left up misses a whole side of moderation. It is not just a punishment, it is also (supposed to be) a deterrent. If you take the vast majority of posts that result in some sort of action down you are missing that whole side of what moderation can do for the site. People don't know what to be deterred from without at least some of them.

The system doesn't do that, but for beer trading warnings a link to the rule is now included.

Debatable. If it's left up, people can still "Like" it and quote it and the nonsense will only continue. And depending on the content, some if it really doesn't deserve to be left up.

Well, they can read the rules. Some other forums I've been around the mods issue warnings in a thread that's getting out of hand, but that doesn't usually make sense in an ISO:FT.

When I hear about a member getting put on timeout/ banned and the reason he gave was posting "cool story bro " in a thread I would definitely say the rules are ambiguous in some cases.

I can assure you that it takes much more than that to be put into a timeout; it takes multiple offenses with multiple warnings/chances to stop. And hearing something doesn't make it true.

Let's get back on topic and come up with solutions for beer trading vs. nitpicking each other to death.
