Just stopped into my local Costco and noticed they had cases of Golden Road All the Way IPA for $25. They were in 24 packs of 12oz cans (all their other stuff is 16oz cans) and the couple cases I checked were canned in mid August. Anyone else find Golden Road in their Costco? Ours has had cases of Stone IPA for a while and they even got a palate of Ruin Ten earlier this summer. Also anyone know the story of how this came about. Like I said I have never seen Golden Road in anything but 16oz cans and it looked like the cases were hand packed. Is this a one off try for GR and Costco? It's nice to be able to get good craft beer at Costco prices, especially in cans.

Haven't had All the Way, but Wolf Among the Weeds is actually pretty good IMO. Wish they'd carry that instead
Point the Way? Meh. Wish it was fresh Heal the Bay. At least they're not just offloading all their old cans to CostCo though.

FTFY. honestly though, GRB has gotten considerably better, but there are still so many superior options around that I never, ever buy their stuff. And it's $10 for a 32 oz growler of all of their halfway decent beers (Heal the Bay, Berliner Weiss, that stout with the terrible name...). That's more than Enjoy By! also, go bruins!
They started doing 12oz cans a bit after they revamped their recipes. Mainly because a 4 pack 16oz pack were collecting dust at the shelves of Whole Foods, and so they figured that they could slip easier into the market by using what people are accustom to. While it's not my favorite, I agree that their quality has gotten better. Heal the Bay is really tasty, so is Wolf and their Big Lebowski brew was pretty tight. I wouldn't pick up cans of Point the Way or even the Hef, but their burning bush is solid enough that the Costco price tag of less than $6 for a four pack is an alright price. Though since Costco has cheaper bombers of stuff like Racer 5, Alesmith IPA and even Stone's seasonal offerings, I tend to lean towards those more.
When did the recipe change for Point the Way? Had it maybe 10 days ago at LAX and it was just as mediocre as when it first came out. Does it actually stand out now?
It was changed earlier this year when the brewer from Drakes took over. It's definitely better than it was.
yeah. I was at Costco yesterday and they had bombers of Racer 5 for under $4. Time to fill up the fridge
Ha! I was really bummed with your review of the Almanac wet hopped beers. Looking forward to picking those up. Ever since you turned me on to Almanac with that bottle of Farmer's Reserve 3 I have been chasing them. Got to taste the original one at Sourfest. mmmmmmmm........ Sourfest. BTW this is molson.
Sure Heal the Bay is superior, but it would also be great if Duet and Nelson was available at Costco. At the price point it is a pretty good everyday IPA that is easy to get.
Heal the Bay had one of the best aromas of any beer I've ever drank. The taste didn't quite do it justice, though.
