What are the best places to hit in the area. Bottle shops ,bar/brewpubs Only spending two days there. Thanks in advance.
If you're in the downtown area, the best bottle shop is Nathaniel Square Corner Store. Not the largest selection but they usually have something good. For a much larger but more expensive selection, check out beers of the world in henrietta. For bars, check out Tap and Mallet (down the street from Nathaniel Square), their sister restaurant Tap and Table, or The Old Toad. All three of these places are downtown. For brewpubs/brewiers, there is Roc Brewing, which is really close to the old toad. There is also Genesee Brewery/Brewpub. This place is definitely worth checking out if it's a nice day our as they have a beautiful balcony and rooftop view of high falls and downtown. Plus they have a small pilot brewing setup for small batch/brewery only stuff. If you're staying out in a suburb, there are definitely other options out there too, but you'd have to narrow down which town you'll be in/near.
Note that Nathaniel's actually has a better selection of some beers than Beers of the World since BOTW foolishly refuses to buy from Remarkable Liquids, a relatively new distributer bringing some very good beers to Rochester. If you are out in Webster, Hegedorns is another top notch place to buy beer with fair prices akin to Nathaniel's. The one area BOTW has over other beer stores in the area is their singles collection. It is far larger than any store in the area. If you make it out to Fairport, Donnelly's is another fine beer bar in our area. Cheers!
Donnelly's is good and if you're out in the Fairport/Pittsford, there is the Basin Pub which occasionally has a pretty good beer on tap and there is a Hess station across the street with a great selection of bottles.
Check out the rohrbachs brewpub on buffalo rd. solid beers and food. For a nice cheap tap and bottle selection with great pizza slices and a dive feel check out acme bar and pizza on Monroe ave.
Avoid One Stop in Greece - their selection is nothing remarkable and their prices are 2-3$ higher than everyone else. If you are going into a Wegman's don't sleep on them - most of the Wegman's in the area have a decent to good craft beer selection.
