On a trip to the North West a couple years ago, I fell in love with Elysian Brewing in Seattle. Sadly though they've done collabs with Stone, and seem to be held in high regard, they don't distribute to California. However, today I was at the Trader Joe's in Mission Valley and low and behold six packs of Super Fuzz Blood Orange Pale Ale... at the OBSCENE price of $5.99! Needless to say I picked up a couple and grilled the guys there to see if there was any more on the way. They couldn't be certain, but seemed to think if it sold well, there would be more... Just figured I'd pass word along, because I'd love to see more of their brews down here.
I used to order beer and wine for TJ's, don't take their word on something like that. That is an awesome price though, cheers!
Good god I hope they bring the avatar (jasmine) IPA in the process, I remember splitting a bottle of that at the airport because we didn't have enough luggage space with all of the brew I was bringing back lol
I was just kidding around, I wouldn't expect someone that doesn't get their distro to know that they have a shitload of pumpkin beers.
I doubt they are being distributed to California permanently. Trader Joe's brought in Harpoon Irish Red back around Saint Patricks's Day for another example. I think they are just bringing in out of market seasonal releases once in a while.
So, it's a short time Trader Joe's exclusive, but they hope to expand distribution to CA in 2014. Response to an email i sent them... "Thanks for writing us but yes we are distributing in Trader Joes only in CA for a short period of time. We have a special deal. Please keep an eye out for us though in 2014 because we hope to be expand distribution shortly."
I jut bought a 6 of this at my local TJ, and opened one....its incredibly good! For 5.99 a 6pack that is the best thing going right now.
