I'd say let the characteristics of the individual pumpkin beer help you decide. But when in doubt, a pint will do just fine

As I understand it, the EPA strongly suggests not to store liquid waste in glass due to the possibility of breakage, and the ensuing cost of clean up.

I use the the one on the left for a lot of beers, bought at the Dollar Store for $1. The one on the right is my newest glass that came with Pumking from the Winking Lizard (Glass of the month).

If you really want to get into the swing of things, get one of those pumpkin shaped candy buckets kids use on Halloween.

    This is the truth..

Glassware can change your experience in subltle ways, but use the glass that suits what you're going for. If you love the smell of pumpkin ales, use a glass that traps the aroma while you're taking a sip. If you don't give a shit, pour it in whatever you feel like pouring your beer into.

Choosing a glass isn't as complicated as some like to make it.

How about hollowing out a small pumpkin as one would for a jack o' lantern and pouring your pumpkin ale into that? Maybe it would even add some extra pumkin flavor, hehe.

The one on the left is what I use for the Imperial pumpkins. When you buy it the receipt says its a "footed goblet" so if its a goblet then I'm good to go. I just didnt feel right putting a pumpkin beer into a tulip or snifter.

IMO, if there's no reference to glassware on the side of the bottle I usually make a decision based on the individual beer. is it extra spiced and loaded with booze? I go with a tulip or a snifter or something in that neck of the woods. a dull 5-6% with not much going on would get an American shaker glass. I find that finding and using proper glassware no matter what the style is important if I'm a beer advocate.
