In my experience, all Struise bottles must be handled with kiddie gloves if you don't want to lose your investment....

    Has anyone else bought this?

Should there be the tamperproof ring on the bottle, cos if it should it is missing on mine.

Fire water liquorice with fisherman's pier
I think I like it

Melton Mowbray Beer Festival. I was most impressed with the quality and condition of the beers I drank.
    Which were;
Belvoir Brewery's White Dolphin, Brewster's Black Watch (this brewery was using lots of West Coast hops before most people had heard of them),Buffy's Mucky Duck, Cliff Quay's Aniseed Porter (not to my taste), Elmtree's Nightlife Mild,Golden Triangle Red Square,Grain Brewery's Porter and IPA,Green Jack Brewery's Trawler Boys,Flower Power and Baltic Trader,Humpty Dumpty's Black Mill IPA,JoC's Norfolk Kiwi, Lacon's Legacy and Affinity , Ole Slewfoot's Friend of the Devil, Woodforde's Norfolk Nog (an old friend) and lastly Thornbridge Wild Swan.
That leaves the other 35 beers plus ciders/perries for another day but I'll probably be heading to Branston for the Wheel Inn's festival instead.

    Enjoying Hill Farmstead - Everett.
Fully justifies its position at the top of the porter score board.
    So drinkable !

I'm surprised you didn't partake, then again I assume you must have a good selection of said pies not to do so.

We have the scotch pie, obviously not a contender compared to the Melon Mowbray in terms of cold pie-ness, but by god it'll give it a run for its money when hot.

A friend originally from the US who was visiting his folks last month. The family home is maybe a 300 mile round road trip to Greensboro VT from where they are in MA but it's one he always attempts to make when he's back just to stock up on HF goodness!
I guess the scenery is pretty decent too having driven around parts of this journey myself so it's probably not all about driving for the beer !

Best pork pies IMO come from the small independent butchers in the area rather than in the town itself. They are a by product of Stilton making, the whey is fed to pigs.

Nice. Funnily, I was literally just looking at my 'ordinary' Buxton Tsar a moment ago.

Pinched the MG and after a memorable journey through the Vale of Belvoir ended up at the Wheel in Branston, a feel good pub if ever there was one. A mini festival plus a hog roast , pity I was driving! Began with the Lincoln Gold from Tom Wood's , then it was Castle Rock Preservation followed by Blue Monkey's Infinity. Blue Monkey IMO can do no wrong , beautifully crafted beers worth seeking out.Tried Brewster's Rutterkin, an old friend recently reintroduced and truly gorgeous stuff too. All that remained was a leisurely drive back through one of England's best kept secrets.

Nice as in they gave it to you? If so then that is fantastic....

I'm currently drinking Feldschlosschen Hopfenperle - a decidedly average Swiss lager.
