I've got no use for it. For example, Widmer Brrr is 1000 times better in that department

Alright, I've gotta stick up for my boys at SN here...

Wouldn't most of your sentiment be directed at the distributor and/or bottle shop rather than SN about what is and isn't on shelves? And I know I've seen Tumbler around on shelves, so what do you mean about it getting the boot? Have not tried Flipside (unless it's the same Red IPA as their beer camp Red IPA from this year), but Hoptimum is a pretty solid beer IMO, maybe just a tad pricey, but if that's your concern, stick with Torpedo. I , for one, did not notice a price increase for Bigfoot. Not syaing there wasn't one, just saying that it couldn't have been that massive, was it?

I'll chalk this up to your monster Narwhal thirst. After all, you are "Thirstyface" :stuck_out_tongue:

No, SN is responsible for Narwhal not hitting shelves EVER. Worse, when asked directly via website that assured me it would land in NY last year. It never did and still hasn't. Tumbler saw it's last production a month ago. You and I will never see it again. No issues with Hoptimum pricing. Just don't care for 10% for the sake of 10%. I think IPAs, even DIPAs should have a good drinkability to them. Perhaps just a personal preference, but it pales drastically to something like Hopslam, of equal ABV. I like Torpedo enough. Bigfoot was $13.99 a four-pack in NY last year. The year before it was $12.99 for a six pack.

I was harsh, and will probably eat my words...just momentarily annoyed

Anyone paying $13.99 for a 4 pack of Bigfoot is getting ripped off by the store or distributor. It was $10-$11 everywhere around here, same SKU/pricepoint as Narwhal/Hoptimum. A little more expensive than it was in a 6 pack but not a total ripoff. We did get Narwhal last year in upstate NY, but probably less of it overall than Hoptimum/Bigfoot.

It's hard to believe that I passed on a case last year. I walked by it until they were all gone, knowing how much I loved it. I will not make the same mistake twice. For $7.99/4pk, I would be inclined to say that this is the best bang-for-the-buck stout on the market.

It's funny how Cali beer is cheaper in states other than Cali. Not to mention how they often appear on shelves in other states before they hit here.

Here is the list of their distributors in NY. Call and ask where you can find it. http://www.sierranevada.com/distributors/
Most of the NY Distributors have recieved Narwhal

FYI - retailers set the price to retail. Not the brewery. Three-tiered system.

Tumbler is a good brown ale, but Flip Side blows it away! If something doesn't sell, then you have to replace it. Narwal is awesome, but has yet to hit N.H yet. Sierra is awesome and I will never turn my back on them.

Thanks, but it has not landed in NYC or LI. Unless of course my beer stores are simply placating me when they "check" their system. Do you work for SN?

I can't believe they got rid of tumbler for this... They have plenty of hop forward beers

I just saw a stray 2013 12oz bottle at a store in Jersey this weekend. Bought it. Drank it. Loved it. Wished there was more.

Glazer's initially only got 50 cases for the whole state of Iowa thinking they would gauge demand first then order more if it sold out quickly. Some DSM stores have received a second case but it's still stupid-limited for a stout that doesn't really have availability issues on Sierra Nevada's end.

Plenty of it around here in the RDU area. Not too far of a drive. A store near me has a dozen cases stacked up
