Oberon is what it is, and successful.

Love may not be for everybody, but you would know it was packed with flavor if you were around back then. Something tells me you weren't.

I know Illinois is getting some. Black Note too-check any stores you were able to pick up Oracle.

Wonder if this will find WI, unlike Oracle?

I found singles of Oracle at the Waukesha Discount Liquor, 1 bottle limit.

It somehow made it to some select Milwaukee area shops, but no where else that I am aware of.

    I love wheatwines.

Hope it makes its way to IN.

My list of "gots" is pretty current. That being said, not everything on that list is eligible for a trade.

In terms of stuff I could go out and get that doesn't distro to Michigan... Boulevard, Perennial Artisan Ales, Deschutes, Odell and Great Divide are all some breweries that have really solid beers that I can access pretty easily.

BM me if you want to keep this convo going

Interesting - that was a fun series in 2005, and one that would get spat on in 2013 for not being hoppy enough and not having a single one of the releases aged in some obscure barrel.

Popped my first one, tastes like a cross between a Dancing Man Wheat and a La Fin Du Monde. Very nice.

Despite the overcarbonation in some bottles (I'm looking in your general direction, 2), I love love loved this series, particularly Wheat Love. That said, I worry that this is coming back solely for nostalgic purposes; New Holland and Smuttynose make stellar wheatwines, while Wheat Love remains just a notable foray.

IIRC, I tried all but the Wheat 2. I'd like to see them all again!

I had one of mine the other day, and while I don't know if this would be considered a true wheatwine (although this is the first one I've had, I just browsed BA wheatwines and this seems maybe low on the ABV for the style) it does taste great. It as lots pineapple and bubblegum like the great German Hefe-weizens, definitely pick some up if your can.

Wheatwines tend to go in one of two directions, either a Barleywine like beer with a huge wheat base or a something akin to an Americanized Weizenbock. Wheat Love is definitely the latter. I can agree the abv may be a little lower than one may expect but I feel it is style high enough to warrant inclusion in the style, it is definitely too high for other Wheat beer styles.
