Since this seems to be your 1st trip to DLD 3 things to know,

1 bring your drinking boots lots of good beers you won't get anywhere else

2 don't forget your helmet! Your going to need one I'm guessing :-)

    3 call a cab don't make a rookie mistake you'll need it!

I'll be wearing my helmet too I'll be the fat kid on a chain and choker collar just inside the taproom! :-)

    Good luck!

Well, trading tickets on BA isn't allowed so... I guess that's that.

Very well said. I certainly would not have been this nice (which is saying a lot considering how much it takes to get me mad)

    Cheers!

PS With this type of attitude I have a feeling BA and craft beer in general will be a worthwhile endeavor

I agree generally to what you say, he gave a great comeuppance to his attacker. But I really think OP is a more a case of misery loves company, than truly wondering if he got *****. OP showed in his post you quote he is far too smart to really be unsure if settling for $18 of beer when he could have gotten so much more/better was not a good deal. OTOH we all do feel better sharing stories like his, and there's nothing wrong with doing it.

This sounds like a case of a new trader being taken advantage of. Probably something that has gone overlooked since the recent "n00bs are overvaluing their bottles!!!" outrage. Personally, this irks me much more than an uninformed person asking for a 1:1 KH:CR trade.

Or, for all we know, the guy on the other end agreed to the trade and is actually sending like $50 worth of stuff instead of the agreed amount because he knows he got a sweet deal. Tough to say, but if he sees this thread it is a possible outcome.

As a new trader, ill ask the question you left hanging out there. Whats wrong with asking 1:1 KH:CR?

Without going too deeply into it, here are the numbers:

CR batch 2 - $34 Bruery Reserve Society only, 3 bottle limit, ~3,000 bottle count

KH - $13-21 shelf retail (although the first people who got bottles paid $25 each at GI, 3 bottle limit), ~12,000 bottle count

AHHHH, sorry, i thought you were saying it was wrong to look for 1 KH if you were putting up 1 CR. I thought that sounded a little weird, but since my CR trade post got no KH offers I thought there might be something i didnt see lol

Your statement is everything that's wrong with the trading community. 'he was nicer than he could've been'. Bullshit. If you aren't able to go to DLD, don't buy tickets. Op explained himself. He got scalped. You bring up fucking eBay in a beer trading community? I don't care if tickets are going for $800 a pop. You're feeding the machine. Tickets that were bought, turned around And sold for $50+ are by people being crooks. The op got taken. That sucks. But my point is, he actually got a very good trade for the ticket price, eBay be damned.

Op, sorry your Gf couldn't make it. Sucks even more that there are members of this site advocating eBay sales of tickets to beer events (or trading for them as such). I was under the impression that was everything this site was against.

 Your statements are still idiotic and illogical. Please tell me how my statement is everything that's wrong with the trading community? I'd love to see how much more idiotic your thoughts can get. I didn't say he was nicer than he could've been, just said basically that you overreacted since he clearly isn't one of the eBayers selling the tickets. If he bought them specifically to trade so what? He lost $ on the trade anyways.

Yes I bring up eBay in a trading community because we're all adults here and this thread is about tickets bought on eBay, we don't need to cover our eyes or for me to type "the unmentionable site" when I talk about it. I type "eBay" when I'm talking about it, if that makes you mad have a beer, if you're still mad have another one. I don't care how much tickets go for and please explain to me your fucked up logic of how I'm feeding the machine, I'd love to hear that one too. Merely discussing eBay is not feeding the machine, people that buy on there will keep doing so regardless of what an internet forum says, same with the sellers. If it makes you mad that some people have too much money and buy beer and beer related stuff on eBay, too bad, there's nothing any of us can do about it since eBay doesn't see it as a problem even when you report it.

The OP did get taken and my point was that whoever did the beer end of the trade got an even better deal because otherwise he would've had to buy it on eBay like this guy instead of trading roughly 30 bucks of beer for it. Your statement because of my point is illogical and and overreaction just like the statement I quoted before this. So what if he would've bought the tickets just to trade for them, I don't get why that would make you so mad unless you're pissed off because you didn't get any DLD tickets but even without the scalpers, your chances were still minimal so I still don't get your anger.

If you're talking about me, again you're full of shit. Show me where I advocate eBay sales of anything...I don't advocate them but I don't find all that much wrong with them except for the new stuff. Its really the breweries faults though that they don't price like every other business that produces a luxury/commodity out there. I don't think you can name another thing that you can buy and turn around put it on the bay as soon as you get home and make somewhere between 100% and 500% profit just like that. Of course there's gonna be scalpers when you have price points as low as those. Although it sucks that there's scalpers attending every release and buying up tickets, if you ask me its the breweries faults mostly for not following the supply and demand economics curve with their prices and doing cost plus instead.

Again, you're quoting eBay, and this is what's wrong with trading now. Forget about eBay. Trade like a normal human being, not like you're trying to win the stock market.

Again, how does that matter that I talk about ebay:confused:. I do trade like a normal person, I just don't use the forums all that much anymore to do it because like you said, its like the people on there are on a stock market. I've stuck to my trading partners for the past 9 months or so and have responded to an offer or 2 on the trade forum that led to trades. I also posted offers for heady and furious/abrasive in december and more recently posted like 4 offers for white whales. That's about as much as I have used the trading forum in 9 months if not more because of what it has turned into. I don't trade like I'm trying to win the stockmarket, if you don't believe me, I don't care but if you care enough to wanna find out you can ask any of the references in my profile information what trading with me has been like :stuck_out_tongue:
