Damn, I told Tertullian the wrong person apparently. I mistook your request for brewzma. Once the box arrives at the next target, I'll ask them to add your name to the early list.

I took the box to FedEx yesterday and they wouldn't take it. The outside box that contains the other boxes was little beat up and FedEx didn't think it would make the trip. I have to find a huge ass box today and try again. If I can't find a suitable box I'll just send two.

    I can do this.

All you people that use FedEx, I haven't seen this many shipping issues since USPS. UPS has their shit together apparently.

    Sincerely,
    A Homer

I nearly always use UPS. I have a theory on the difference in shipping in regards to UPS vs. FedEx. UPS is a unionized workforce. While one would normally think this would mean the guys can do whatever the hell they want with the boxes and get away with it (due to the union), I think the union actually makes the work environment slightly less hectic for the drivers and loaders by complaining to management about excessive workload and bringing on more employees to help alleivate the situation. Hell, if the route is jam packed, the driver gets double pay OT so he's really in no rush.

FedEx is completely different so the drivers and loaders are judged based on time. The seem to be in more of a rush which is reflected in the way they handle packages and the shape those packages are in when they arrive on your porch.

(Side note: I worked for UPS as a loader when I was a teenager so what I mentioned above was my experience about 13 years ago. Stuff could have changed since then.)

Thanks dude. Just switch up the names and put buzzword in the ship early category and brewzma in the Send Whenever You Want category. Thanks!

I'll be there from like 4:30 pm tomorrow until the release is over on Saturday. Unfortunately, bottle limits are at 1/person for each of the six beers and my roommate backed out last night, so now I have no mule :slight_frown:

But, if they don't sell out the first time through the line, you can get back in and possibly get more.

Ouch, one per person now? I'm kinda glad I didn't end up being able to go!

Yes, that is correct. However, I don't know what to expect. I would love to grab a second bottle of The K13 or Laird's Apple Brandy GNVP, but I don't have my hopes up.

I've never had a worse-off box than this one I got this week from an OH trader. And it was shipped through, you guessed it, USPS.

I'm actually surprised they even delivered it. I guess it's good that the broken FIS the guy threw in as an extra smelled more like soy sauce than beer after marinating the cardboard for a week or so. At least fedex has the scruples to turn down a box they don't think would make the trip...

Time for another hint. My girlfriend is a native of my target's state. She spent many a night in my target city's finer drinking establishments, of which there are many.

I'm jealous, I'm missing the Voodoo release and/or the Wealth of Riches event because my wife's birthday is this weekend and she wanted to come to Florida. On the positive side, I just walkout of the supermarket with a 6-pack of 2 week old Jai Alai!

I'm coping best I can. Had a CCB Good Gourd and Invasion on tap at lunch. Now I'm cracking the 2nd Jai Alai while watching dolphins cavorting in the bay. On a normal day I'd just be getting home from work. Next on the busy schedule is a nap followed by ice cream.

I couldn't disagree more. My shipment to CLaBarre in this BIF - using UPS - is Exhibit A at the ineptness of UPS.
    1. Package damaged (I think 3 bottles broke, and by CLaBarre's account, a mighty, mighty smell replaced what was once beer).
    2. UPS's policy was to return a damaged package to sender - despite the fact it made it to within 10 miles of it's intended destination.
    3. When I tried to call UPS to intercept the return of the package, I had to make 8 calls between the Des Moines distribution center, UPS corporate and the Boston UPS Store to eventually get an intercept in and keep the package in Iowa. At least that was the last word I got from UPS Corporate.
    4. Despite being told the intercept was placed, the package was still sent back to MA, only to turn right around and go all the way back to IA. In end, over 10 days on the road.
Would LOVE to have gotten a photo of whatever arrived at CLaBarre's porch eventually.

Box will be delivered to the next target middle of next week.

Hint - If you want to know where the box is going just look at your right hand.
