This thread reminds me of the Beer Wars movie where the devotees of each of the 3 BMC lites could not tell the difference in a blind tasting.

I'd need to see the "Best by" date on those bad boys before I'd waste the postage. Everybody knows Bud Lite falls off the cliff if you don't drink it super fresh! Personally, I won't touch it if it's more than two weeks old (and, really, I think we can all agree it's best straight out of the Clydesdale).

I took the tour of Camden Yards a few years back and at one point, while we were down in the catacombs, the tour guide pointed at this 12" pipe running across the ceiling and said "that's the beer line. All the concession stands are serviced from down here so we don't have to run kegs out to all of them all game long." Noting that he said "beer line" <singlular>, I asked, "so you only sell one kind of beer at your concession stands?" He replied with a straight face, "Oh, no. We have several different taps at every stand."

I encountered a person in Lancaster's Federal Taphouse, offering 100 taps. They said they were VERY particular about their beer, then ordered PBR...

I worked at a Piggly Wiggly a few years ago, and there was a lady that came in a couple times a week to get her fix of Coors Light in bottles. When we would be out of bottles I would offer her the canned version, but she would just look at me like I punched her mother then say "No, I'll just wait 'til you have more bottles."

Even as a non-craft drinker at that point, it left me scratching my head.

Somebody brought some of these to our house for a party. They sat in the fridge for six month and finally my son asked the other night if he could shake them up and shoot at them with his BB gun. Kind of a symbolic ending for them, I thought!!!

I wouldn't call them snobs, more like diehard fans. I would wager there are more BMC based tattoos than craft tattoos if that means anything.

Coors light is the most watery and least flavorable beer out of the three main lights, if I drink Miller and I do sometimes because that's what the majority of my family drinks and I can't change their minds, I drink High Life, yes it is weak, but there is something there

The over all answer to me seems to fall into a more social/human nature category. Most people just want to be part of the herd. "Sheeple". If it's not your choice of the BMC beers, then it is football team allegiance or political affiliation or truck preference. Many of us here debating this fall into these same generic preference in some other category just not beer. It's safer, easier, and socially more acceptable to be part of the crowd. It's easier to be defined than to find yourself. Brand loyalty becomes an identity.

After being in the Air Force for a little over 3 years at the time (everybody in the AF drinks Coors Light), I finally got deployed to Kuwait for 4 months. When I came back I felt compelled to drink craft more, my tastes had finally matured to better things. When we got back to the states one of our desert buddies decided to invite us all over for a drinking night. One guys was there drinking ole ye faithful (Coors Light), we were all giving each other shit about random things. Figuring that everyone has tough enough skin, I figured with my Sam Adams Lager and something else I can't really remember, I started mocking his choice in beer using words like piss and water. He got so pissed off his friend spoke up and said that I should stop or he might try to fight me. If someone made fun of my choices in beers craft or macro, I don't think I would ever want to hit someone over it, but I think you tend to find characters like this in the BMC world more often than not.

A mentor would have no luck with this woman, trust me. She would bring any mentor down to her level.

Maybe your experiences are different than mine, but they seem to all seriously think they are drinking superior beer. You're not going to find many of them admit, like those in the Tailgating thread, that they are drinking lowest common denominator product akin to McDonalds and such.

Exactly, for them. They are not people interested in the taste. They are not interested in knowing the range of options and what is out there. They are missing out in a big way.

Craft beer people tend to have more promiscuous palates and move around. Some fidelity exists, even cult-like followings, but often I think you're dealing with two different *kinds* of people.

I don't know about tattoos but imo BMC drinkers enjoy their beer as much as and in many cases more than craft drinkers do.

Just had a talk with my fellow transmission tech at work and he had asked me were and what I did on vacation so I replied " went to buzzville and caught up on some good craft beers that I had been wanting for awhile" his reply was " Heineken is the best craft beer I have ever drank and that Great Lakes is crap" I smiled and said " Oh Yeah" then walked away.

Ran into a neighbor today who had just been to the liquor store. He said that he has just got some really good beer - opened his trunk to show me the case of Mich Golden Draft Light. I wanted to cry.

Offered my cousin a SA Octoberfest at a BBQ yesterday and he tells me. "I don't like those fancy sweet beers, do you have a Bud?" I called him a crackhead.
