Can't we just be friendly less sexually ambiguous pirates like Jack Sparrow?

Most, in fact, when it comes to rare beers. And given how much emphasis is on trading, I bet people buy up bottles even if they don't want them, just due to the "rare" factor.

I appreciate your general attitude and optimism, but fact is, there are tons of people out there nowadays that are very cutthroat around limited releases. Some are active on BA, some are not.

More to it, with something like King Henry, which not only tastes phenomenal but came out three months ago and is trading for newborn children and left testicles, I can't fathom any reason why somebody would see a bottle and leave it. As it was very few bottles made it to the state, certainly nowhere near enough to go around, so it's not like anybody got their fill. Any bottles still sitting out there on shelves are doing so because those stores don't get the kind of people who hang out on BA forums.

Lastly, please take a good look in the mirror about "sharing". 90% of this board wants a bottle of King Henry, yet you specifically asked people to privately message you so that information could not be shared with anyone else. Because, you know darn well that if somebody shared that info publicly on this forum the bottle would likely be gone by the time you got to it.

Generally, yes, believe it or not. Most actually buy a beer they want to drink, drink said beer, and enjoy it! Crazy, right??

Because most people don't obsess over hoarding and trading the latest limited ticker-only release? That would be my guess...

Any idea if they still have some?

Let me rephrase. I understand why somebody might pass on it. I don't foresee any reason why lots of people would pass on it. There are more than enough hoarders/tickers/ebayers/etc in MA to go around plenty...

Wow, I used to drive by this place all the time....would never have even occurred to me to look there for any beers, let alone those 3! I thought it was mostly (only) wine.....

Yet another reason why not to post beer sightings.

I was talking to a guy at a big liquor store near Boston that is more of a beer store and didn't get any. Apparently, the A-B distributor in the area is giving the Goose Island specialty stuff to the stores that push the most A-B products even if they have no idea what Bourbon County is.

Well, the way we do it is we allocate the GI specialty stuff to the accounts that regularly support the GI brand year round...

Perhaps things have changed but I have been told by store owners that they get saddled with crappy A-B cases in addition to the GI specials so it doesn't appear to be strictly related to GI.

no worries, i can't speak to how others do it... but i will tell you that we work with the accounts that work with GI on a consistent basis

Thanks for the info. Raced over there and snagged a bottle of bramble off the shelf. Looks like that stock is gone. Was told they sold over 40 bottles of Bramble/Coffee today and they had some held for someone driving up from Providence. Will get this shop in my rotation.

I think the better question here is how the hell is this store getting over 40 bottles of Bramble/Coffee when others are getting less and/or completely shutout? They obviously don't really cater to beer geeks or those bottles would have been long gone. Leads me to believe the above comment about big AB sales getting the GI rarities has a lot of truth to it.
