I picked up a four pack this afternoon at the grocery store in Waterbury. With tax and deposit it came to $18.21. I was hoping it would be like five bucks less, but I just had to try it.

I think I paid $16.99 at Hunger Mountain today. I felt that was very pricy, but I wasn't going to have them void the sale(no posted price). I had one tonight followed by a Heady. Double Dose stood up very well. I did no side by side but it was impressively comparable in taste (obviously not in price).

These are 12 oz bottle, 4 packs at over $15?

    Wow.

More expensive than Lunch! Still the cheapest, best format, best distributed Lawson's IPA I can buy.

Beverage Baron in my hometown of Barre has Double Dose for $15 plus tax. Two bucks less than the four pack I got yesterday. I just cracked open my first bottle, at 4 dollars a piece, it is well worth it. I'd say a world class IIPA. With this distribution, hopefully more folks can try some of VT's IPAs.

Interesting to hear grumbling re: this beer being over-priced, considering it's one of the least expensive Lawson's offerings to date.

But it was brewed at and is being distributed by Otter Creek (and is basically the same price (per volume) as double sunshine).

Tried it today on tap as well as the bottle. A little bit pricey, but really tasty. Still would rather have heady.

$/oz is roughly 7.50 for a 22oz. One of the cheaper Lawson's offerings. It's very, very good and the price isn't as bad as it may seem.

    agree with everyone, great beer.
Glad to see Mike getting to flex his brewing muscles with Sean. Was going to buy several 4-packs but balked at $15 a 4-pack, so ended up walking out with only 1. Will probably need to get a second one though, it hit the spot after power washing my house, garage and deck all weekend.

Double Dose = 31 cents per ounce

Double Sunshine = 41 cents per ounce (at Farmers' Market), 47 cents per ounce (at Winooski Bevy)

    more fun price comparison...

Heady = 20 cents per ounce

    Abner/HF DIPAs = 27 cents per ounce

This assumes the lowest of the various posted prices for double dose; at the higher end, it is about 40 cents per ounce. It also is the only one of the above in 12 oz format, which traditionally is way less expensive (particularly vis a vis bombers).
