What i was wondering how come the two batches look so different from each-other ?
It seams that the color its so different and the body also. Does something like that affects the taste from batch to batch ? Does it get more sour over time or is it more sour when its fresh ?

I know it will taste great , i was just wondering why it looks so different and if the looks of it change the flavor.

I'm no photography expert but those two pictures have completely different lighting. It seems like that could give the beer a different hue.

I also believe the beer in that picture came straight from the keg, so it could have more carbonation than the bottled version. I had some this past weekend and it was delicious.

This was exactly what I was going to say. In order to compare with any accuracy, you'd need to have exactly the same lighting present. One is in shade, one is in direct overhead sunlight, so the color SHOULD look different.

If I were Jeff, I would make really small changes in each batch just to fuck with BA's minds.

Then laugh and laugh at the 11 page thread on slight color and carbonation differences.

With this type of beer making there are going to differences between the batches. There will even be slight differences from bottle to bottle. Biology!

I think he already does that by labeling the same sour as 5 different beers...

Calm down fellas, that was a joke :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, this blend has a somewhat darker color than previous blends. I can't put my finger on exactly why this is. Our base malt for Boxer's Revenge is a blend of organic two row and organic pilsner. Our batches with a higher ratio of two row malt tend to be a little darker, especially in a high gravity wort. That might be part of it. Also, most of the barrels in the blend were whiskey barrels filled with Boxer's Revenge in December of 2012. There may be some color pickup coming from the barrels.
