Obviously some were probably broken, but damn...pretty shitty of people. It was a great event, it's a shame they have to take this big of a hit in glassware. Especially with the caliber of service that was given last night. Considering the size of the crowd they did an amazing job IMHO.

Jesus. They might go to plastic cups after a loss like that.

We just got back on of the 1 of the 192 glasses that "walked" off this weekend. Thanks to the mystery customer who brought this one back. 1 down, 191 to go!

Saturday was their 3 year anniversary party. Needless to say, it was a full house, and filled with epic beers.

It just sucks they have to take this hit for putting on a great event with some of the best beers I've ever had in my life.

Hopefully more people will return some glasses, but somehow I doubt they will get many more, if any more back.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of glasses?

12oz sniffers with red letters. I'm heading over to the buddha in a bit, hopefully some more glasses have been returned.

Snifters most likely, though it doesn't specify. Has a pic of one though.
Probably even some of the snifter club snifters with names on them got jacked, but again they didn't specify.

I hope mine wasn't stolen, left it on the table. I was more worried about my keys at the moment haha.

It is what it is, I just hope they don't adopt a harsher glass policy because of this, though it would be completely warranted.

That's a terrible shame. I'd guess that each of those glasses cost at least the same as the profit they'd make off one beer (and possibly more). So it's basically the same as them giving away at least 200 beers, or 200 people ordering a beer and then walking out on their tab. Great job supporting an awesome brewery everyone who took one!

That's terrible news. It was such a well run event and the bar staff couldn't have done a better job coordinating the madness. I couldn't believe that they were still using glassware at one point later in the night. My buddy and I were actually discussing how much of a pain that would have been keeping up. I can see how those might have walked, they are really cool snifters. I have bought many from the lounge and sent them off as extras to good trading partners. The fact that people stole them though is very shameful, especially since the Buddah staff went out of their way to make sure that it was a classy event. Sad to hear.

Were they serving in logo glasses? If so, I'm sorry to say they should have seen it coming, especially since they aren't new to the business. Not that it justifies the theft, but any bar that serves regularly in logo glassware is going to lose a lot more than one that uses plain glasses. Hell, I've seen people try to steal salt shakers and pizza serving racks. drunks will steal dumb shit they have absolutely no use for and anything as attractive as logo glassware is just asking to be nicked. I know of brewers that will order logo glassware to sell and then order the exact same glasses without the logo to serve in because it saves on theft. Even the plain glasses will walk away more than they should, but at a much lower rate then custom logo glasses.

Not saying it's ok to steal ever but aren't glasses cheap as fuck?

That's way more than I expect. Is that what they charge or is that what they pay? I imagine it's cheaper since they buy in bulk.

These are branded snifters. There is no way they would charge $3 if they were selling them, and there is little chance that they could buy them any cheaper than that in the kind of numbers that they would purchase.

Printed libby brand snifters and pints are just under $3 when bought by the palette, thats a shame FB got jacked.

I guess it goes to show how nice breweries are when they give you a free glass with a tour. Thanks CCB!

Yeah it's more the principle than anything.
I guess that's what happens when a bunch on non locals come around with a shitty attitude. "Hey, they threw a great party, with great service, and amazing beer, but fuck them! Right?"
I'm sure they expected some lose, but 191 is fucking ridiculous.
What can ya do. Maybe next year's party will use plastic cups.

Damn...this thread has me cursing now ha. I just take a little personally when I know how nice the staff is there.

My buddy who has spent the last three days at the Buddha heard from Ryan that they will simply stop using branded glasses except for members because of this bullshit.
