If I'm drinking something new at home and on my own then always, purely for my own records.

Nope. Impossible to do every beer due to the fact that I am never at home all the time and won't do a review amongst a crowd of people or being out with friends. Hads are lazy for me and an easy way out so I would rather take the time to give my opinion and type out a review. This is based on the fact of how the reviews were originally done. I also try to drink a good beer for a milestone too. Salvation from Russian River was my 600th.
I really never thought my reviews would get this high, but I haven't stopped yet due to the fact that new brews and breweries keep emerging. I don't judge beers whether they have good ratings or bad ones. Commercial donestic beersdont have the best of revirws and people keep drinking them. You got to try everything once or sometimes you end up at a bar and the selection really isn't the best.

I review beers that I sit down and drink slowly, i.e. when I'm at home relaxing. If I try a new beer at a bar or at a party, I'll mark it as a 'had'.

Not up to your lofty standards, eh?

I see reviewers like you every so often at the beer bars I frequent. They sit at the bar, all self-absorbed and serious while they sniff, observe, and taste beer samples and write importantly in their dog eared notebooks.

Interestingly, there almost always are empty chairs on both sides of them. Even other beer geeks don't want to engage with them, not to mention the general public.

More recently I've been reviewing every beer. Partly to in some way give back to the BA site, since I get so much great information here. And partly because I'm getting old, and CRS anymore.

If I am at home consuming a beer that's new to me, it gets reviewed. if I am out with friends, I don't review beers, I'd rather enjoy the company of my peoples.

Hads are easily ignored, sure they count in the overall score but with a single click I can take them away. *boom!*

I admitted to being a jackass in an earlier post, but I really resent being called a pompous one! :slight_frown:

And happy reviewing to you - just be sure they don't take on a pompous tone or people might consider you a jackass too.

Locking this one down. It's not going anywhere and it's obvious that no one actually reviews EVERY beer.

    Thanks,
