So I heard a rumor today through the "hopvine" that Surly is going to be charging people to get in to Darkness day this year, similar to how they run SurlyFest. I just wanted to see if others might have heard anything about this as well?

Price to get in will be $45 or so I'm told and I have no clue what that includes as far as amount of beer, glassware, etc.

    Your thoughts?

Seems expensive. Guess they've gotta limit entry somehow. I love Surly, but I think I'd rather buy some bottles of their beer - or $45 in Furious.

I find this very hard to believe. As someone who has gone to Darkness Day the last 2 years, I don't think Omar would do anything to anger fans....especially something as stupid as this!

I'm sure tickets would have been announced already if this were the case.

I spoke with a Surly employee recently who talked about how great it is to have a get together like this brining people together to share beer and to celebrate with others Surly fans, and the best part is that it is FREE!!

Personally, I can't wait to witness the "brining people together" which seems to be the best part of Darkness Day.

How many are you allowed to buy? Think it will be as available at liquor stores as 7 was?

you get to buy 6 bottles if you attend Darkness day. I believe it hits shelves a few weeks later but its VERY limited and doesn't last more than the day. You likely won't see this on the shelf

Great I just realized I'll be in Utah for two weeks for the military starting on the 25th. I might have to make my wife go down and pick some up for me.
