I agree. NN taste profile changes after a few weeks. When it's uber fresh, it definitely has a different taste. The first few I drank this year reminded me of the first few I had last year. It's still damn tasty after being bottled or kegged for a couple months, but the beer changes(either that, or my tastes buds do). I made an effort to stretch my stash well into the summer and was successful. It was still tasty several months later.

Whole foods Bowery has like 30 cases. Picked up all I could carry on the subway.

Good to know! The Whole Foods on 23rd is on my way to Penn Station. Hopefully they got some as well. I'll settle for a sixer. (Wishing. Hoping. Praying.)

This happened for me last night. Picked up a case about a week ago. My first few bottles were "good", but disappointing based on what I remembered Nugget Nectar being. Last night? It really "opened up", more aromatics, bigger "juicier" flavor, etc.

My thought process has always been that, when it comes to hoppy beer, *fresher is better*. Before last night, I wouldn't have believed you if you'd told me what you said above. But last night, I experienced it for myself. I don't know why... but it happened.

The Malvern Wegmans still had it as of today but it looks like they are getting low. Picked up another six pack.

Probably going to try and snag a case soon, it should be available through most of March right?

Got my first 6er of the year just now. Enjoying a bottle dated 2/21. Tastes as hoppy as ever. Whole Foods Bowery in NYC had a ton. About 15 cases or so out on the floor. They're selling it at 13.99 though, which is quite steep in my opinion. I feel like this beer has gone up a dollar a sixer each year for the past few years. I definitely remember it being at least 12.99 last year. Anyone else notice any price gouging? It's one of my favorite beers, so I'm gonna buy it, but paying 15 bucks a sixer after tax and deposit really hurts.

Its 11.99 here at Wegmans which I am pretty sure is a dollar more than last year as well.

i was debating doing that if it arrived in NYC before LI... but would be a pain taking it on LIRR too... glad i got in LI first, but good to know if need to grab some extra 6 packs i can do so

Dumb question here. I do have poor eyesight, but all I am seeing for dates on Nugget Nectar are "best by" dates on the outside of my case. It reads best by 6/24/12. Am I to assume this was bottles on 2/24 with a four month freshness window?

It is fantastic as always, btw.

Look at the bottles. They have a bottled on date.

Yep, should be stamped on the bottle just above the main label.

Anyone know of a distributor in SEPA with any NN?

Also, you can determine the bottled date from the "best by" date printed on the case. if it says "best by 6/20/2012" it means it was bottled on 2/20. just subtract 4 months....

There wasn't any NN at the Chelsea Whole Foods (24th St. and 7th Ave.) last night. The only Troegs stuff they had was Hopback, Dreamweaver, and Pale Ale, so apparently not all Whole Foods are getting NN. The Bowery store isn't too far from where I work, but just getting there and then schlepping only a sixer uptown to Penn Station via subway for the train ride (LIRR) home will require some logistical planning. May just have to bite the bullet though for some NN!

I want some NN. Anybody in the Hatfield Pa or NE Phila area interested in some Better Half see my post in the trade forum.
Glad to see that with the location change that it is tasting as good as ever.
