Is this going to be released widely in bottles along with Dirt Wolf? Hope so! I'm kinda psyched to see Victory come out with some new beers.

I absolutely love Dirt Wolf. If this beer turns out to be better than Dirt Wolf that would be very fucking impressive.

My understanding is that DirtWolf is the culmination of the the Ranch series, and Hop Ranch is actually the same beer as Liberty Bell Ringer, which I actually prefer to DirtWolf (and I LOVE DirtWolf)!!!

This is interesting after kinda ignoring the IIPA market for a while (yes I know hop wallop is a double), to release 2 doubles so quickly.

Dirtwolf is a serious winner and I'm excited to try this as well.

haven't had dirt wolf, but i've had 2 or 3 of the ranch DIPA iterations that have been around in bars over the past year (cascade, simcoe, and i think there was another one with multiple hops...).

victory hit it out of the park with all of them, as far as i've experienced, and i'm pretty hard to please with hoppy pale ales these days. definitely go out and try it fresh, it should be worth the extra effort.

(edit: to put my (D)IPA snobbery in perspective, i'm drinking week old MBC lunch right now, and while i love it, it's not really knocking my socks off. i was ruined by lawson's, hill farmstead, alchemist, current NEBCO, and other breweries at the top of their game like wormtown with be hoppy, stone with lots of their one-off IPAs, drake's aroma coma, etc.

when i go to a bar in NYC and see that there's a victory ranch IPA on tap, i'm always relieved that something worth paying a premium is available that night)

From conversation with my server at Victory last week :
Hop Ranch is the current Liberty Bell Ringer recipe. The name "Liberty Bell Ringer" will be used for a different beer every year for Philly beer week.

The current Liberty Bell Ringer recipe which has been changed from the PBW, that's what I was told. It was "tweaked" from the PBW recipe and I think it's actually better now. I had LBR on tap at home for most of the summer so I am very familiar with that beer. The current version (now Hop Ranch) is better with more depth. The first iteration of LBR was lacking much malt at all, Hop Ranch has much more malt depth and body (not that it is a malty beer, it's not).

Victory is doing fantastic with the release of these 2 DIPAs, it's been a long time coming and both are fantastic.

It's delicious. Had the other night at Lower Depths after the Red Sox game. I have seen it around Boston, but not the Dirty Wolf yet. As for availability, I hope they keep making it or at least make it a rotating offering from year to year.

While at a beer fest last week, a Victory rep told me it will be a Dec/Jan seasonal.

On Saturday I drank a draft Ranch which was apparently hopped with Simcoe and Citra and it was just absolutely incredible. Victory's recent IPAs are off the hook.

Typically don't drink a lot of Victory, but I will seek these out once they hit the shelf.

Hate on me if you want but I've never been a big Victory fan, til this. Have had Ranch on tap a handfull of times and its never disappointing, can't wait!

I heard this was a January seasonal release. Anyone know if there is any truth to this?

I don't know, but I do know it's on tap at the brewery, or at least it was last week.

Bottles start moving next week. Should be a very tasty Holiday! Then more goodies for 2014 in the works.

Looking forward to this a lot actually. If what one of the earlier BA posters said is true "That is made from the same recipe as Liberty Bell Ringer and a Dirt Wolf," I'm ecstatic for the January shelf release.
