I purchased tix through TicketMaster for Friday night but decided I wanted to attend Saturday as well. I obviously don't need to worry about my own tickets being fraudulent but what stops someone from printing multiple tickets and selling them to as many people as they want all over Craigslist or something? I'm assuming once a ticket is scanned, you cannot scan the same barcode again to gain entry, correct? I also posted this in this forum because I imagine it will be happening a lot this week and that some of you may have purchased tickets already this way and could shed some light.

Please forgive me if the answer is simple and nothing can be done to prevent this, but I just wanted to make sure that it's something that could be happening and I'd never know.

(this is also my 1st GABF fest)

I imagine you are correct and that is worrisome for sure. That's why if I need to I would try to buy tickets on the BA forums as I trust the members more than a random craigslist poster. That is also why a lot of people see the benefit of getting hard tickets as its much easier to sell them for this exact reason.

Glad to hear your interested in going Saturday as well. Saturday evening or Saturday afternoon?

I am sure I can say this for everyone here, enjoy your first GABF, its a magical experience.

Yeah, buying on BA has definitely been my 1st choice (no A-holes and feel much better about trust) but just haven't had luck scoring the afternoon session. Luckily, I have found someone on CL and we've spoken A LOT and I have a pretty good feeling about it. I completely forgot about the hard tickets; that's definitely the way I need to go to help ensure legitimacy. I need to ask them if they have TM printable tix or the hard tix.

Thanks so much! Very excited for an awesome weekend.

They can transfer teh tickets directly to you via Ticketmaster...If they have the printable tickets have them do that.

The electronic tickets still has the purchaser's name on it, so it's unlikely to just be copied and sold all over the place as once they scan the second, third, fourth copy it will come up as already used and they could easily look up the purchaser and accuse them of fraud.

Good thought, does it work on GABF tickets though. I tried to transfer tickets to my parents but kept on getting an error saying they aren't allowed to be transferred.

Oh, right...Yeah, I guess they won't allow transfer for GABF tickets. Best bet may be to find someone local.

Ticketmaster told me the people at GABF didn't set it up so people could transfer tickets via Ticketmaster's website

Not to threadjack or anything, but I have 4 extra tickets for Thursday and Friday if anyone is looking. I'm a Brewers Association member and am just trying to get face value back on them.

Stubhub guarantees your purchase, so you wouldn't have anything to worry about there (except maybe not being able to go to GABF, but you would get your money back). It's more expensive with all the fees, but you feel better.
