Ithaca Beer Co. - Introducing Box of Hops

On Thursday, October, 17, 2013, we will unleash a maelstrom of hop intensity on our fellow craft beer drinkers. We call it, Box of Hops – Our Special Collection of Extra Hoppy Beers. Hops lovers, you’re welcome!
Box of Hops is a specialty variety twelve pack featuring Flower Power IPA plus three beers brewed just for this collection including: Dark Vine – Black IPA,Double Zilla – Double Red IPA and The Creeker – Double IPA.
Box of Hops is a limited release (only 10,000 packs) available in select markets around the Northeast beginning in late October, but on sale in the Taproom at Ithaca Beer starting Oct. 17th. When it’s gone, well, you know the rest. Double Zilla, Dark Vine and The Creeker will also make limited draft appearances around the Northeast in support of the release.
All four Box of Hops beers will be on draft in the Taproom starting October 17th, and brewery staff will host a pub crawl on Friday, October 18th among four craft beer bars in Ithaca, each bar featuring one of our Box of Hops beers. All are invited to come join in the festivities and chat up our lively Ithaca Beer crew who will be out around town throughout the night. More to come on the locations and times.
Box of Hops is the first in a new series of variety packs Ithaca Beer plans to introduce over the next year. A Belgian beer variety pack is in the works for early Sprig 2014, and a best of our 5-Barrel Series in the Summer – a variety of beers produced for the Taproom on our 5-barrel brew house and voted on by customers. Box of Hops will return again in October 2014.

Flower Power – IPA: Our wildly popular IPA is simultaneously punchy & soothing with a big body finish that boasts pineapple and grapefruit. ABV 7.5%
Dark Vine – Black IPA: A hoppy black IPA bursting with so much flavor that you might think you’re tasting double. Intensely floral nose, surprisingly light body, and strong bitter finish. ABV 9.5%
Double Zilla – Double Red IPA: Twice the experience of Cascazilla, we brewed Double Zilla with too many malts to list and an excess of American hops. Russet color, aggressively hoppy aroma & flavor, rich body, and fiery finish. ABV 11%
The Creeker – Double IPA: By no means an ordinary Double IPA. Creeker is all hops with little malt body. Intense citrus flavor & aroma with mischievously easy drinkability. ABV 9%
