I will be in Boulder on Saturday and will be with a group of people (alums of OU/UT/Texas Tech). We all have games at 10AM.

Is there any decent sports bar in Boulder with a good tap list? We are in town for GABF and doing some brewery tours after - we mainly want something to start the day off right with good beer.

I'd probably recommend West End Tavern.

Twisted Pine Brewery had all of the NFL games on Sunday during GABF last year. I would imagine they have the college games as well. They have a really nice setup, not to mention awesome pepper beers. Ghost face killa!

I'll be in Denver that morning before GABF, same Q for Denver but also curious if all bars will be open at 10 AM for those games or if it will be hit or miss that early

I am assuming you are a Tech alum? If so, they have a alumni association watch party at a place called Govnr's Park (http://www.govnrspark.com/).

I have been to the alumni association watch party in Denver before and they usually have a good turnout for it.

There's tons of awesome places to watch games in Boulder but I don't know of any that open at 10am. Your best bet is probably somewhere on the hill, near the university. I know Twisted Pine doesn't open that early and I doubt West End does. Lazy Dog perhaps but their tap list is far from great, especially for Boulder.

Backcountry Pizza has arguably Boulder's best tap list - was in today and they have 50+ great taps including a ton of amazing sours. They've got 3-5 tvs through the bar too so games should be easy to come by....

Backcountry looks like my best option..but the damn start time is going to be the problem.

Maybe the solution is to start at Lazy Dog and then move to Backcountry at halftime.

If you want a little less distance between stops, Harpo's usually has some decent craft options.

I actually think that it is Saturday just later that day they are doing it (at least it was last week when I looked at their website). Since I am coming from Austin, I doubt i will need to stay around for it since I seem to be able to have there beer at any time.

I made a trip to Denver area last year when UT played NC State. Backcountry Pizza management was super helpful and even cheered our team on with us. Then we spent a buttload of money on their awesome bottle list.
