Hint, don't drink this beer out of cheap plastic or it begins to taste like gasoline and the aroma from burning plastic...

Is it the same recipe as the Wild Guava Grove released a couple years ago (I think) or is the souring different in the new batch?

Sour mash. This beer is pretty fantastic. I had a couple glasses the last two days and I'm taking a growler home to STL. Really good stuff and I'm glad to see CCB doing sours again.

I think the bottles will just be called Guava Grove Sour, though I'm going off untapped for that info so who knows.

Untappd is user submissions, so i doubt that is reliable for the name. Unless CCB actually did the user submission for that beer, which i would guess not.

never rely on Untappd for names.

Did any of this ever get distro? Was hoping some would make it down this way but haven't heard anything since mid sept. Guava grove got quiet with Zhukov, GG, Big Sound floating around.

OP from CCB FB page on 8/30:
Just tapped in the tasting room: Guava Grove!

Some exciting news regarding this batch. We discovered a method to produce a stable and consistent sour beer. This allowed us to create a batch of Guava Grove that's sour as heck! A lot of folks have been wanting to see Guava Grove return to its sour roots, and we think this batch is better than it has ever been.

Stop by the tasting room to try it on tap! Soon we plan to bottle this as well.

And for those who prefer the non-sour Guava Grove, good news, we will be bottling that version as well! Keep an eye out for both bottles.

Maybe the label hasn't been approved? if so, it may be a while longer (not claiming to know anything so I don't son't like a know-it-all. I haven't a clue.)

    Lol
You can thank Congress and the Government shutdown for that.

Don't get me started, i don't want to get banned

Just had some more sour GG tonight. Love it.
I am wondering if this keeps going on with the shutdown if they might forgo the entire bottling of this and keep it on tap way longer, and more widespread.

Wouldn't the label just need state approval, not federal?

What's interesting to me is they pulled it from the growler according to the tasting room website. Might they be getting low?
