Trader Joe's Vintage Ale is superb! And a bargain at $4.99 a 750 ml...if only we had more TJs here now that I live in Louisiana....

If you can get your hands on some Barrel Trolley, it's $6.99 a six pack and is pretty decent. Nothing to write home about mind you, but miles better than any macro you'll pick up.

My new favorite is Laurelwood Workhorse IPA, $8 for a six-pack. I did a blind side-by-side a couple days ago between Workhorse and Sculpin (almost twice the price), both almost exactly a month old, and while they were remarkably similar, I preferred the Workhorse.

Also, anything from Sierra Nevada or Lagunitas.

I may have to try those. I had their bock beer once and it was truly awful so that kind of scared me away.

Different beers are brewed by different breweries, IIRC, but unless they've changed since I last had 'em over the summer, the PA and IPA are still pretty good. FWIW, I've been told that the Pale is a blend of DBA and Pale 31.

Nice. That's good to know. I'm definitely a fan of DBA.

IIRC the German style ones are brewed by Gordon Biersch.

Old Rasputin is one of my favorite bargain beers, though I can no longer pick up a 4 pack for $6 since moving from CA.

I wish Schlitz was $4 for a sixer of tallboys around here. They go for about $6-$7 for a 4pk of tallboys. (South suburbs.)

They don't distribute to us. Shame, all things considered.

OT: Ipswich Dark ($12ish for a 12-pack) is solid, 'Gansett Bohemian Pilsner (~$9 for a six-pack) is solid if you haven't tried it yet, and as others have mentioned, Lagunitas and Sierra Nevada are both always reliable.
