Of note, Stickee Monkee finally hitting 22 oz bottles in May, as well as their Oaktoberfest in 6-ers in Aug. Their facebook page also hinted at a sour release, but of course is keeping some secrets hidden from the public eye - for now.

Awesome! Their barrel program is just amazing and I'm glad they seem to be expanding the wider distro on some. Glorious.

Stickee Monkee is a huge beer! Will be the one from their whole lineup to stock the cellar with. Funny how they expand so much yet the quality of their beer suffers none. Every good brewery should follow FW's lead

That Stickee is a good beer. Honestly I don't remember enough to describe it but I know I kept buying 1.5 oz portions of it at Barrelworks when I was in Buellton on vacation (or so I've been told).

    It
It's like Sucabas big brother! Super malty and huge barrel notes. Lots of brown sugar and creme brûlée, mmm mmm

That makes sense given that Sucaba is my favorite beer. The thing about Barrelworks is that the have so many crazy beers on tap it is hard to process all of them!

This is horrible news, I already spend way too much money on Firestone Releases! Now I'll have no choice but to buy Stickee Monkee bottles too. Note: This is actually awesome news. Just not for my wallet.

I don't buy nearly enough Firestone Walker. If I could only drink beer from one brewery for the rest of my life, this would be it. They consistently get high marks in almost every category they attempt.

On a trip about a year ago, a friend and I hit the Buellton/San Luis area. Heard one of the small breweries mention that Firestone started their brewery with a $300M investment. Guess that's what it takes to make it big (and taste good, too).

That seems a bit much upfront but a substantial amount in the upswing wouldn't surprise me. My understanding is that Firestone (whose family is longer established in the area's wine industry) and Walker (whose I guess is Mr Moneybags) put a lot of dough into the brewery. That they could both invest and attract money in that ballpark over the initial few years wouldn't shock me. If anyone else has any other info on this subject I'd be interested to hear it.

Regardless, they did something nobody else is doing or has done in decades; a long commitment to barrel ageing and a full blown Union-Burton system, one of only two in the world. The fact that Matt Brynildson and Jim Crooks are apparent geniuses doesn't hurt either.

There was also a mention of them looking at canning within the next year or two. A tallboy of Double Jack sounds like pretty much the best thing ever.

No Reserve Porter on the schedule. I wonder what they have planned.
