I am likely mistaken, but this is the internet and that's never stopped anybody, but if you joined imbibe today, I don't think you would be able to make use of the associated benefits until next year.

They haven't announced the participants yet but I think we could make a reasonable guess based on who has participated in the past and what they brought. I did a comparison of the 2011 program and the 2012 program and found the following commonalities between the two:
    • Against the Grain
    • Bell's - Black Note
    • Destihl Champaign
    • Destihl Normal
    • Finch's
    • Firestone Walker - Stickee Monkee, Velvet Merkin
    • Flossmoor Station - Pullman Brown Reserve
    • Glacier Brewhouse
    • Goose Island - BCBS, King Henry, Madame Rose
    • Goose Island Clybourn Brewpub
    • Goose Island Wrigleyville Brewpub
    • Grand Teton - Barrel Aged Coming Home
    • Great Divide - Oak-Aged Yeti
    • Haymarket - Clare's Thirty Ale, Indignant
    • Lagunitas
    • Lakefront
    • Lost Abbey
    • Metropolitan - Carburetor Rye Doppelbock
    • Moylan's - Wet Hopsickle, Wet Black Hopsickle
    • Nebraska
    • New Belgium - La Folie
    • New Holland - Dragon's Milk, Barrel Aged Charkoota Rye
    • Oakshire
    • Piece - Barrel Aged Mooseknuckle
    • Revolution - Straight Jacket (listed as Barrel Aged Institutionalized in 2011)
    • Rock Bottom Chicago - Barrel Aged Naughty Scot
    • Rock Bottom Cincinnati - Sarah's Two Headed Buffalo, Rudolf's Bourbon Scotch Ale
    • Rock Bottom Des Moines
    • Rock Bottom Orland Park -
    • Rock Bottom Chicago - Barrel Aged Naughty Scot
    • Schlafly - Barrel Aged Barleywine, Barrel Aged Imperial Stout
    • Shmaltz
    • Sun King - Pappy Van Muckle
    • Three Floyds
    • Two Brothers
Of course, they'll have a lot more breweries than the ones listed above. Also, the best part of FOBAB is trying all the new beers you've never heard of.

Pretty sure that was for a pre-sale ticket offer, not for the early entry.

The FOBAB site says you can bring a license, 1pm session ticket and a pay pal receipt saying you joined and you'll get in early. I assume that means you can join 5 minutes before.

If you read the bottom of the FOBAB page, it says you can use a paypal receipt to get in an hour early. It does not state that you have to be an Imbibe member by a specific date to utilize said perk:

    http://www.illinoisbeer.com/fobab/

ImBIBE Members — Once again, you will receive the benefit of early FoBAB access in 2013! You must purchase a ticket for the 1PM session in order to receive the benefit of early access. Upon arrival, we will ask you for your ticket to the 1PM session, along with a valid state ID and your email address. If you are missing any of the previous information on November 16th, you will not gain early entry.

    Recap:
    1. 1pm session ticket
    2. A valid state ID
    3. Registered ImBIBE email (you can print out your Paypal receipt and bring it with you, that works!)

I used the FOBAB discount last year on a hotel and was very happy with the price. All I was asking is if they have announced any participating hotels yet. Otherwise, I'm perfectly capable of finding a hotel on my own.

sorry. i wasn't answering your question. it was a recommendation. otherwise, you can check out their website, twitter, facebook pages for any announcements for hotels. alternatively, i'm sure they have a support email account.

Thanks, I realize my post came off rude, Sorry! I didnt intend for that at all.

They sent me a message today stating they are still working on packages with local hotels. I stayed at the South Loop last year, but it looks to be booked as of today. They mentioned shuttles this year, so I'm crossing my fingers to snag a hotel that provides a free shuttle to and from.

Sadly I cannot attend this year even though I got tickets. I have a friend that was going to go in my place however I purchased the tickets and they have my name listed as the attendee on each ticket.

Does anyone know if these tickets are transferable to another party? Do we need to inform the FoBAB organizers of a change? I e-mailed them but have gotten no response yet. Thanks for any help!

if you have the original link you can go in and edit the ticket names, so yeah they should be transferable. you can always call and do it online as they're pretty helpful. i was having CC issues the day of sales i ended up calling and they did it for me over the phone.

Names shouldn't matter on tickets, from what I hear from the higher ups.

    Just IMBIBE Entry/Pre-sale Tickets, obviously..

Do they really check the names? I just did a ticket swap so do I really need to change the names on the tickets? On Brown Paper Tickets, you can change the e-mail but there is no way to change ticket holder's name.

Not directly related to FOBAB, does anyone know if IMBIBE Charter membership renewal is still a thing? You were supposed to be able to renew at the original rate every year. There used to be a separate link on the website, but now it doesn't exist. I emailed IMBIBE over a week ago, but they haven't responded back.

I swapped tickets with another BA the day that tickets were sold. I called BPT and they confirmed you do NOT need to have the name on your ticket matching your ID.
