Constructive criticism should always be welcomed as that's how these festivals get better... I didn't hear any complaints about the beer.

I agree with the issues. My only point was that all 3 posts above mine lead with: "a bit disappointed...", "Cons:...", and "was a mixed bag for me..." And then ended with but the beer was great. Just seemed like folks didn't like the festival. I agree on constructive criticism -- just felt like folks may be losing the forest through the trees a bit...

I kind of feel Denver Rare Beer was more crowded and cramped, less quality of food (too salty), and not as good of a variety of beers (though I am a sour fan). But for a first run, it was well done. Look at other events that have been running for years, and they still cant get it right. I think this was a great event overall and won't hesitate next year to buy tickets.n

Wish I could have made it, but with the RBT earlier that day (and 2 previous days of liver assault) there's no way I could've enjoyed myself. It's too bad as I know AC Golden had a bunch of Colorambic variants I wanted to try. Hopefully next year this will be on a different day...and that also gives them time to work out the kinks.

If they offered to do this festival again I would do it again in an instant. No question about it. Was awesome. The quality of the beers poured easily outweigh a crowd or some meatballs. I stand my comments and the venue should be a touch bigger for the number of people there. I went to the Rare Beer event earlier and no way was that more crowded. That was in a bigger space. If the picture isn't crowded then I must be wrong.

I was floored by the list of beer, it was a bit overwhelming. I thought it was a great event and I loved the building.
My only complaints are the same as previous posts, it was a bit cramped and I would have preferred less people or a larger space.
Also I would prefer this not be the same day as Rare Beer, that was alot to do in one day. I saw some folks that were in very rough shape trying to do both.
If I had to choose one over the other I think I would go with WTF over Rare beer. Just more my style.

The thing with Rare Beer (i.e. the strong, barrel aged beer fest) is that about 30% of the beers (unscientific guess) were oxidized. Not so with WTF?!

Since a good chunk were aged for 3-4 (or more) years, that isn't too shocking. The 30% guess is pretty much in-line with my take. One surprise is that the 2002 Alaskan Smoked Porter, which is ancient in beer terms, didn't come across with that heavy oxidation character. I think the smoke cancels some of that out.

My only big problem was the mobile ticket scanning; the phone scanning was taking quite a while to register the barcode. The staff were doing all they could but the phone app just wasn't able to scan accurately for myself and several in front and behind me. Our group had a mix of tickets and mobile but the entrance way of Sherman was a little tight to swim through after presenting the ticket.

It was a little crowded but a hell of an event; well done to all the folks who setup and poured the good stuff I look forward to this every year.

Awesome beer list, very fun event, food was good. I hope this becomes an annual thing. A tad more space would have been great but I've seen much worse (especially for a first time event) and there was always somewhere you could go to get a little breathing room if you needed to. The number of great beers you could walk right up and get whenever you wanted with no waiting was just incredible. Anything negative I could think of to say would just be looking for a con after the fact, the whole time I was there I was only thinking this is an awesome festival.

    And that dragon fruit Berliner....

i have zero complaints and feel that we might be forgetting the point here, which is we were all just treated to an evening of world class beer.
food - i honestly forgot they were serving food and filled up at sam's no 3 on the way over from the alpha king challenge. heard it was falafel, not meatballs, but have no clue and didn't go upstairs until the very end and even then, i only went up there to use the restroom. if food's a concern, drop a trio of food trucks out front and call it a day.
crowded - maybe, but what good fest isn't? still, there were places to go if you wanted to get out of the way. the lines were minimal and i saw very few beers completely run out. that alone speaks volumes for me.
i would have liked a coat check or place to ditch my jacket, but that's f'n petty and not a complaint. cold outside and that old building got warm inside. with that kind of lineup and quality people attending, you could have held it in a sauna and i would have been happy.
awesome fest, especially for a first time event. good to see many of you there, either drinking or working. see you next year.

Awesome. That pretty much summed it all up. Nicely done! I am still amazed by that list. Would do that event again in an instant. Space issue or not.
