Anyone know of a place in the East Bay where I can pick these up, or a website that will send them to me? I'm particularly interested in the Kiwi and Persimmon.

Damn. I have no plans of going out that way in the next decade, so I guess if I want a kiwi Lambic, I'll have to learn to make it myself...

Well, there is this little-known, seldom used forum on BA called ISO:FT...

Yeah, but I don't have anything to trade. All I have right now is a w00tstout aging in the fridge, and I'm keeping that!

you could also get somebody to mule them for you. This is what I did last year and was able to get Blackberry and Raspberry lambic. I think the lottery for this year has passed, so if you want one you'll have to trade for it

Threads like this intrigue me. How do you know about Upland Kiwi Lambic but not that it's only sold through a lottery and needs to be picked up at one of two locations. Serious question, I'm not trying to be rude.

Curious as to this as well.

And if you're seeking it, why not acquire something local and trade?

The fact that you wouldn't trade your sh1t stout for an Upland Lambic means you probably need to keep warming the bench a bit before you're ready to play. You're like Rudy...if Rudy didn't know anything about the game of football.

At one point the idea of a kiwi lambic (and kiwi cider) came to me, and I tossed it into Google. The combination sounds like it would work very well! I didn't look at the website enough to find out about the lottery(?). That sounds pretty ridiculous, actually. I did see that it's only available through their distro in, like, two states, but I wasn't sure if some other company picked it up locally (or online) by other means. Mostly hopefulness. I was expecting a no response, actually.

On a side note, that Google search also turned up a place in New Zealand that makes just about EVERYTHING out of kiwi! Wine (dry and sweet), sparkling wine, liqueur, eau de vie, cider. Makes me tempted to go to NZ to try them, but I don't have that kind of money.

I bought a second bottle specifically for the purpose of trying it next year to see how it ages, since I liked it so much and we still had a few (plus, I found one of the special bottles! ). I don't have a bunch of extra money (or room for proper storage) to buy tons of extra bottles. When I buy something, it's nearly always new to me, and I'm buying it because I want to try it. I'm not some collector. Also, don't insult my tastes just because you didn't like the beer.

Edit: And, looking at you beer list, you don't even seem to have tried either the w00t, nor the uplands!

    Indeed.

So, what exactly is muling? Is it finding someone to go out there for you, or finding a friend out that way and having them ship it to you?

He probably came off a bit harsh but the OP was puzzling to me so it deserved some prodding. It just seems like a random, out of the blue question. You usually get the occasional "where can i buy founders in LA?" post but one asking for an Upland sour seemed to suggest that the OP had more than a glancing familiarity with them.

I've really enjoyed kiwis since i was a kid and these really intrigued me. Entered the lottery and didn't win though. Good luck scoring one! I'm sure there will be some California release you could get your hands on that would trade for it.

Actually I have. I just no longer care enough to mark them "had" or rated. When you drink hundreds of new beers a year, it becomes time consuming to track them all.

I didn't mean to insult you, but woot stout is truly shit compared to upland Lambics. I'd trade 10 woot stouts for one upland lambic but nobody with upland actually wants woot stout.

Calm down Captain Coffee, I was jazzing the newbie.

2012ers defending the BA honor of 2013ers is cute.
