I came home from a 14 hour work day to a chilled PseudoSue with Turnip Greens and Chili Potatoes. Lovely wife.
This PseudoSue is spectacular by the way.

 

There's a box out for delivery to a guy who hasn't posted in this thread since 9/23, yet was seen viewing the message board lists 31 minutes ago....shame on him.

Been meaning to post more. First congrats to IPAFan521 for the birth of your daughter.

After next week I should have more free time to join in on the postings.

Also, anyone have some recommendations for some cool bars to visit while in Austin TX? I'm being sent there for a few days and I know nothing about what spots to check out.

Depends on where you are staying/if you have a car,etc. That being said, Flying Saucer, Easy Tiger, Drafthouse, and the Chicago House are all good choices for beer.

If you want to check out breweries, both Hops & Grain and Jester King have tasting room hours. Jester King is a little out of town, but well worth it, and they sell bottles to go of their limiteds pretty often (Info Here).

If you are looking for good liquor stores check out Whip In, Specs, East 1st Grocery, D&Q, or HEB (large grocery store will have decent selection).

When are you going to be in Austin? There may be some specific events going on.

 

We will have a car. A lot of people have mentioned checking out the bar scene on 6th street. I'll be with my manager and VP so I doubt they will be willing to check out breweries with me so I'll see if I can convince them to check out some of the bars you mentioned above.

As far as 6th street goes, you might be able to get over to the Gingerman or Little Woodrow's. I also completely forgot Rainey Street, there are a number of cool places over there, including Craft Pride and Bangers. There is also the flagship Whole Foods Grocery Store which should have a good to go selection.

 

Haha I would echo Utis with rainey st. Also for a good night spot go to the draught house
