    Anyone had these beers recently?

Which vintage do you like better??? and why?

Any recent vertical tastings of this beer?

Checked out the reviews and want a little more information than the reviews can provide!

    Thanks!

Also any off tastes noticed in either vintage? One person posted about phenol notes in one vintage that was unpleasant for the reviewer of the beer.

I have had both not too long ago. First off, I think that these are not worth opening without some age on it. Right now they are still pretty similar to the regular 3F Oude Kriek in my opinion which costs a lot less money. The quality is a touch igher than that of a regular one, touch more interesting fruit notes. The older Vintage’s I have had were really impressive. I basically never buy them, for fruit lambic’s I go for Cantillon & Hanssens. 3F is for geuze.

My memory is a bit fuzzy but I wrote down some brief notes.

2010: good but disappointing compared to the +/- 2007 I had previously, needs time to develop. I made no notes about off-flavours.

2011: very different from the 2010. Very heavy on Kriek, almost reminds me a bit of Cantillon Kriekenlambiek (Moeder version). Standard Kriek sourness, all elements are very nicely integrated. Light pits. Still nowhere near on par with older Vintage’s. No mention of off-flavours.

    2011 > 2010.

There you have it, wish I had more detailed notes, I hope that this helps you at least a little bti.

Opened the 2011 and 2010 within a week of each other. I agree that 2011 is better than 2010, but not by much. I think that I would be willing to buy another bottle of the 2011 and hold onto it for 5 years and see what it does. I think it would be great! Heres my review of both 2011 and 2010 if interested!

Nice follow-up & nice reviews. 2011 should be great in 5 years. These are one of those rare bottles which do improve with age. Plus the fun thing is, they change a lot when they age & you can never tell how they will turn out.
It is like the Vintage’s, no two years are alike.

Yeah its a really cool beer. I was surprised the difference between the 2 years. I know you said they were both very different sours, I wasnt sure about that at first. But you were right on the money with that observation.

Damn wondering what I should do with my 2010, I was going to drink it the other night and just haven't gotten around to it. I was about to make a thread then thought, "search function!" 2011 was really impressive in January. Hm what to do what to do.. since I have no patience and it's already in the fridge I bet I'll drink it.
