punkn ale is pretty tasty to me. palo santo is something damn special. at one point, my favorite brewery though, simply for their innovativeness but after spending copious amounts of time on the trade forums and trying so many other things... at the very most.... a mediocre brewery

I thought Palo Santo was better close to fresh. As for Burton Batton, that needs 6 months for me...

Palo santo is amazing. For not being an old ale or a impy stout, u get some great flavors from it.

I'm down with the 90 minute. A bit too expensive to have more often.

On one hand, I think DFH is a tad overrated. Their IPAs are nothing special (60 is mediocre, 90 is great on tap but often too malty/boozy out of the bottle and 120 is a hot mess), and a lot of their experimental beers just don't work. But, they make the best brown ale out there in Indian Brown, and Palo Santo (whatever style it is) is quite fantastic. I also had an amazing 6 year old vintage of their Olde School Barleywine, and have had some awesome aged Burton Baton.

They're a good brewery doing some interesting stuff like Festina and the Ancient Ales.

As for "great?" Indian Brown is the best brown around. Palo Santo is extremely underrated being a barrel beer. Burton Baton is pretty awesome. Maybe Bitches Brew if you like a twist on an imperial stout.

I can agree that they don't make a lot of great beers but they do make some good beers.

the only thing i really like from them is burton baton and the chicory stout, but i wouldnt call either of them great beers. i opened a 2010 world wide stout at a tasting recently and we all agreed it was awful.

They take risks, sure, but that doesn't necessarily equal great beer.

No, they don't brew anything great. They brew a select few "pretty good" beers, but nothing great. I think 120 Minute and World Wide Stout lead the pack, but neither is world class.

If you want some insight, try looking up videos of their founder on youtube. The whole douche/bro persona evident therein helped me understand a lot about the management of that brewery.

There is something to be said about the availability of their beers. I'm grateful that some bars have a Dogfish Head tap when their only other offerings are macrobrews.

Palo Santo Marron is one of my favorite beers in the world and tastes great at any age in my experience.

Midas Touch (got me into craft), Black & Blue, Hellhound, My Antonia, Theobroma, all the minute IPAs, Sah'tea, Birra Etrusca. Those are the ones I like but they make other good ones.
