Founders Harvest Ale (2013)

It arrived in St Louis today but was gone before I could get any.

 

Scored the last 4 pack at a store today, can't wait to have one tomorrow!

 

Thanks, i too live on the eastside. I called Chucks and Red Wine and Brew Tuesday but neither had any idea when it would arrive so it helps quite a bit that you have each of their "Founders Day" memorized. Which Heinens got all the KBS? I live right near the mayfield and work by the aurora and had no luck at either one earlier this year for KBS.

 

I finished a 4 pack last weekend, the second 4 pack is in the fridge awaiting my return home this weekend. Yum!

 

Next week. Spoke to distro yesterday.

Bainbridge Heinen's...ah, so close!! I heard a few others had it as well, but I can't remember which ones. I give minimal effort to the KBS bottle track down in recent years...find it much easier to just locate a keg and sit there all night. Lville for example, you had to be in line at 2pm on a Thursday or whatever and it was all gone in 30 minutes with 1 bottle per customer. What a waste of time. For the KBS draft party, I showed up on a Monday 6pm and sat on my ass all night and could drink as much as I wanted. Place was empty.

Quick update: Lizarville has Dirtwolf in and should be on the shelves today. Their Founder's distributor did not tip them off to any Harvest Ale coming in this weeks order. Welp, I find out today after work.

 

I heard a few weeks....for what it's worth.

 

Or you could read my post above yours where I say I spoke to the Founders distributor last night and he said it won't be in today, it'll roll out next week

I know! I thought for sure we'd see it this week. When I asked my store he said he talked to the Rep and that guy was saying Nov 1st.

 

If that's true, I wonder if it is the same batch they bottled on the 2nd. Super fresh hops but we don't have the chance to drink it until at least a month after it has been bottled.

 

Thinking back to last year, there were at least 2 bottling dates.

 

Does the Founders recipe for their Harvest Ale change yearly? I noticed on the rating page that ABV is 6.5%. However, of the Founders' website they specify 7.6%.

 

Don't worry. PA didn't get any until it was a month old last year....but then again the PA craft distro sucks. Talked to a guy at out wholesaler, and he didn't think we would have it for 2-3 more weeks.

Then again, If OH isn't getting any until Nov 1st we should have it by Christmas...

 

Anyone hear about this hitting Central/Western Mass yet? Going taking a trip to Northampton tomorrow coming from up in Lawrence.

 

Got a case in Harrisburg 2 days ago. Great stuff.

 

I was told next week by the big stores out in Western Mass. Most deliveries for Founders are on Wed. If you are coming on Saturday though, stop by Tree House in Brimfield if you have an hour. Its worth the detour.

 

Never heard of Tree House. Checked out their site looks pretty cool. I may do that on Saturday on my way home. Thanks for the suggestion!

 

I'm pretty sure it was 6.5% last year and the bottle this year says 7.6% seems like the malt backbone is slightly more present than I remember
