I HATE Blue Moon. It isn't even beer.

That is one very sad and tasteless map. Not really surprised. Most people that I know that consume blue moon or any other yellow fizzy water in this state, are welfare drunkards or college students and have no value in flavor.

One has no ability left to taste and college kids, while some do understand and appreciate craft, most have not evolved into better senses just yet.

I'm willing to bet that in upstate ny, the #1 selling beer is Milwaukee's Worst Ice. Last year, the owner of my local beer store said he sells BMC on a 35:1 scale over craft :slight_frown:

I drink very highly regarded beers very very often and I love Corona.

    Haters.

I know it's already been mentioned several times, but 104 people from each state is hardly indicative of reality. I'm all but positive all 50 states would be Bud/Miller/Coors Light if it was judged by actual sales.

FWIW, I think Corona is much better than Bud Light. Not nearly as corny or sickeningly sweet.

It's not going to blow you away but it beats the hell out of the typical BMC. It's flavorful and a touch on the heavy side. Hard to call it sessionable due to the heavyness but a quality quasi-macro.

Brewed with Wheat, Orange Peel, and Coriander. Sounds (and tastes) like a pretty standard Witbier to me.

35:1 ratio, but I'd bet its not 35 individual people bought BMC to every 1 craft purchaser. I still think the best measure is individual purchases. A person buys a 30 pack of Keystone counts as 1. A person who buys a 4 pack of Founders counts as 1. I would still think BMC would win overall in that method of beer preference statistics I recommended, but the margin of individual people is probably much closer than the volume of sales stats that we generally get shoved in our faces.

I live in the largest unemployed County, this side of the Mississippi. I too, thought the same. However, people here are heavy BMC drinkers. I guess it's a combination of poverty( drunkards and college students alike), poor taste, and simple alcoholism.

One thing that is on the rise as far as sales goes ,is locally made cheap spirits. More than likely, another testament to the type of drinkers in my neck of the woods lol.

He holds a annual craft beer tasting. Last year there was maybe ten of us there. Most were soldiers, including myself.

Not sure why people are surprised, disappointed, or upset at this. What did you expect? This just means more great craft beers for us to enjoy, nothing more.

Something still seems quite off that Blue Moon outsells the other BMC products in those states. The survey must have some flaws somehow.

Sample size is too small to be statistically significant.

This report means pretty much nothing. With only 5k people being polled you get no concrete evidence of anything. I can almost guarantee that Pa sells at least 3x as much Coors Light or Miller Lite as it does Yuengling Lager, and that you could ask 5k people in 5 different counties of Pa and come up with 5 different answers.

The article does tell you that the survey was done at high schools.

If anyone is shocked that Corona took California you need to remember one thing. California is filled with Mexicans and they love their Coronas. I will admit I was expecting to see Sierra Nevada in there though.

I would be willing to bet, Goose Island is gaining fast.
Every restaurant I visit seems to have at least 1 GI beer.
Glad we at least pick Sam Adams, best MACRO- craft out there.

The worst is that Wyoming will never change, if it ever does, it will be Coors Light...

Agreed it's not much of a sample size. But I do think it's kind of interesting to see what people say is their "favorite"--as opposed to what they actually buy the most of.
