Well, I won. Any suggestions on where to get some trout next weekend?

Just got a newsletter from KRBC saying they notified lottery winners and non-winners. I have yet to receive either confirmation. Does that mean I should still cling tightly to this tiny, flickering candle of hope that there's still a chance?

Pumpkin Party, Black IPA and Citra Lottery

Our annual KRBC tap the pumpkin party will be Sunday, October 20th from 2-6 pm. We will have pumpkin carving for the kids, live music with Out of the Blue and lots of fun food specials. How about some Pumpkin Beer Stew with homemade Pumpkin Beer Bread or Homemade Mac n Cheese? Maybe some Pumpkin Bread Pudding with spiced whipping cream and Class X bourbon stout sauce? The pumpkin beer will be flowing (yes growler fills are available, no bottles are not yet available) and the weather should be just about perfect for sitting outside and enjoying your local brewpub. Pumpkin! I just had to write it one more time...

While Pumpkin beer might be enough to get most folks here for the weekend, we also have a fresh hop Black IPA on tap right now that is soooo gooood. We are calling it Black Rock IBA (India Black Ale!) after the station where Kyle spent much of his time as a fire fighter in the USFS. Dark and roasty with a surprising balance of malt and hops. Very drinkable at 6% abv.

In case you were curious, the Citra Lottery has been held and winners (and non-winners) were notified via e-mail earlier today. In case you were wondering, there were about 1000 entries and 320 winners, making the odds about 1 in 3. If you did not get a bottle, we will have Citra on draft (no growlers) starting Friday, October 25th. While we can't know how long it will last, you might want to get here that weekend if you are itching to try a pint. Who knows though, maybe it will last longer.

Hope to see you at the brewery sometime over the next few weeks with all the stuff we have going on. If you can't make it up for these events, don't worry, we'll be here waiting and making great beer. Just drop in whenever you get a chance.

    Cheers,
    The Crew

same boat as you. I don't think a single person has stated that they received a denial email (has anyone?) my guess is that denial emails actually will not be sent out.

Sorry folks. We sent out winner and loser (bad term I know) e-mails at the same time via constant contact. There was a glitch at constant contact and the later e-mail is has been delayed. I have talked with tech support and they think they should send soon.

    Sorry for the confusion.

The "later" e-mail meaning to non-winners?

Thanks for clearing it up. At least Citra on tap next weekend will help wash away the pain of losing the lotto.

Haven't fished around there myself but have heard good things. Kern River Fly Fishing is right around the corner from the brewery, probably stop in there and get the skinny. If I find out anything I'll shoot you a msg.

If anyone else has info please BM me.

    Cheers!!!

Yeah, non-winner e-mails are lost in internet space, but should end up going out soon.

Yes, Guy (his name) knows what is up. He is also playing at the brewery tonight - ska funk.

agree, I live 2 hours away and it's a nice drive. But the pain of not winning the lottery is miniscule to the pain of getting up before sunrise driving up there, waiting in line for hours only to miss out on bottles by 10 people due to line cutters. Even as a 'loser' I applaud their new approach.

Agreed. I wasn't a winner this time around, but still appreciate the lottery system. Hopefully I'll get lucky next time. Or maybe there's still a chance if some winners don't claim their bottles...
