    Feel entitled much?
I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm going with the answer of, they get bottles and you don't, again?
There's going to be plenty of it on tap, so it's not like you don't get none at all.

hey Josh, yeah of course dude!! I am going on Friday afternoon to have a cold one and pick up my six. Well, that's the plan, you didn't get any for real? I can spare 1 or 2!!!

Not really. Obviously with what has happened in the past (line cutting) this is probably the best method to go about things. I've never had Citra before, so I just would like to see something fair set up. ...I also don't want to drive 4 hours (and into a CF) just to try it on tap.

Well, "I" didn't, but the wife did. I'm making her share with me. It's costing me dinner and a stout brownie up there though.

Well you're in luck! Because the method they have set up is 100% fair.

Some of you should come play with my kids...they like to argue about 'fair' too.

I agree that it's fair. I'm just hoping that next time around, people that lost out this time might have some sort of priority - or really, those that won this time be barred from entering the next lottery.

huh? thats not how a lottery works my friend. So if you win $100 on a scratcher you shouldn't be able to buy another ticket?

Then what's the purpose of the lottery? Why not first come first serve if there is never going to be an element of fairness?

What the hell do you think a lottery is? It's completely fair. Unless you don't win. Then you cry foul! But for the most part, this was the fairest way to conduct it. You stating that those who won the lotto shouldn't be allowed to participate in the future releases is like having Kyle take down all the names of people who got it in the February release and they aren't allowed to get it at the next one.

It's a lot of man hours spent that could have gone to brewing and running his business to waste on just alienating his customers. Besides, you typically reward repeat customers, not push them away.

Not sure how much more fair it could have been. You put your name in a drawing and it's either picked or not picked. There is no priority for some over others.

You see this as not fair simply because you didn't win. Sorry, but this was as fair as it possibly could have been.

Everyone had the same odds of being a winning pick in the lottery. Doesn't get anymore fair than that.

One guy gets a kidney transplant, then the next guy moves down the list... Yeah, it's fairly absurd when it comes to beer, I understand. But the Dodgers lost yesterday and I lost Citra - it was an overreaction. I appreciate the candid response.

There are plenty of ways to go about distributing high-demand, low-supply products, and I don't think any are more fair than the others. Each method just caters to a different set of people.

Hell, let's be happy that breweries aren't deciding that the fairest way to distribute their limited, high-demand beers is through an auction process to the highest bidder. If you think about it, you could easily argue that is the 'fairest' way to do it.

Word. Let us hope most of our favorite brews don't go the route of jacking up prices. There is so much compition now that they could alienate their core fanbase with schemes like this though.

Can't wait to try Citra! Been getting to try a lot of killer IPAs and looking forward to seeing where this one stacks up.

You're right. Silly overreaction. But all is not lost. Head to KRBC anyhow. Worst that would happen is you would drink some tasty Citras on-tap and enjoy good food. And if you spend an hour or two there, you might be able to hook up with a few generous Citra fans who would take pity and sell you a bottle. This is called a beer adventure. Like someone else said, you'd probably only be dicking around at home anyhow.

Besides, you can pick up a ton of Just Outstanding and Class V (while also enjoying Class X), you really can't go wrong in making a day out of going to Kern. Depending on what else is on tap, you wont miss not getting bottles to take home anyway.
