I love it. My local can redemption place has a 24 bottle limit but no limit for returning cans.

My opinion... Love it! Yes, it will continue to grow, and yes it should!

certainly makes for easier shipping.. but i agree that it depends on style. jai alai cans are just fine.

No matter what it is packaged in, I pour it in appropriate glassware. But I do prefer cans. For the same reasons everyone else does.

I really have mixed feeling about this, its just hard for me to get away from the bottle. The can has lots of advantages, and if you drink out of a glass, there should be no taste issues. Lightman1

Love craft beer in a can, they fit perfectly in a couple of sections of my beer fridge. Plus there are plenty of good ones available in my area: Sierra Nevada, Avery, Fort George, Uinta, Anderson Valley.

I like fans over bottles for sooooo many reasons:
    Better for environment
    Better for beer, no light
    Better for shipping
Smaller format. While bombers and 750's look cool, I would drink many more different beers if they were in smaller formats. It's tough to pop a high abv bomber or 750 by urself.

My local brewery just started canning this past year, thank god. I don't know how many more times I could drink that flat 5 day old growler beer. Now I can grab a 6 pack and be happy 3 weeks down the road.

Would love to see more session beers in cans around here. Great for when working around the house. I was excited to hear All Day was available in cans but not for 18.99 for twelve. I can usually get SNPA for 13.99.

Um... bottles are heavier than cans. By quite a bit! The amount you receive from recycling is probably about even.

Supposedly unless you scrape the inside of cans BPA is not an issue.

Had my first Jai Alai last night. Drank half straight from the can, then poured the second half. Both routes were delicious!

I've got no issues, in fact I wouldn't mind seeing more. Makes transportation much easier.

I would think that 25.4oz cans would make an acceptable substitution for 750ml bottles. They seem rugged enough and have portability advantages. Wouldn't mind seeing more of that.

For those of us who live near a beach or other areas where glass bottles aren't allowed, this is a definite plus. I hope the trend continues.

Not to thread jack, but I am looking for some sort of huge apothecary jar to fill with 'em. Some of the art on the caps is as good, if not better than the label. It's one of many reasons I buy in both cans and bottles. Obviously, the beer inside is the most important part, but I like the aesthetic of a cool bottle opener, a beautiful glass and a sexy bottle filled with amazing beer.

No problem at all with cans here, just pour the can into your favorite glass and enjoy. I'll mention Anderson Valley Boont amber ale as my example of a beer which, for me, is drinking much better from the can than from the bottle. This is probably my favorite amber ale right now and I've had multiple recent experiences of off-taste and freshness issues with the bottled version (and I live in California where it's brewed so that seems strange to me). With the canned amber, it's like I'm sitting at the bar at my favorite brewpub and a freshly tapped keg has just been pulled for me. No off taste, absolutely fresh and consistent. I won't buy the bottle on this one again.

You should start a new thread on this topic in the Breweriana forum and see what kinds of feedback you get there.
