Note that OP is from Iowa, not a Deschutes Market

Sorry, I shoulda clarified. Iowa is a Deschutes market, I don't think we're getting Freshies though.

Some of? lol If you find it in you to spare one of your some for Friday night/Saturday morning, I'd be down to swap pours. Hell I'm sure I'm not going to horde the thing once it's opened and me and my buddy have gotten some, so whoever is around then is welcome to get a taste from my bottle. I'm planning on trying to find you to do the blind-bottle thing anyways, so I know I'll see you at some point early on.

THIS would be awesome too. Definitely wouldn't turn down sharing with you either.

We have plenty of Freshies in Sioux Falls. Message me and we can work something out.

Quick question - are all of you guys planning on sleeping in the car Friday evening? Is that pretty much what everyone does? My buddies and I had tentatively rented a hotel for both Friday and Saturday just up the road in Brooklyn Center, but we wouldn't want to have someone take our place in line because we decided to sleep off-premise.

Was just wondering what the proper "etiquette" is, if it exists.

If you are in your car be careful about where your keys are. You can get a DUI for sleeping in your car with your keys.

I'm a hiker so I'm briniging the same gear I would bring if I was hiking in 30 degree weather. Plus extra since I'll have the car!

I slept in the back hatch of my car last year and had my keys with me. It got damn ass cold at night last year and hitting the remote starter a couple times during the night helped out. Mine runs for 15 minutes and then shuts off automatically.
I plan on doing the same this year.

Friday 47/36 partly cloudy, chance of rain: 10%
Saturday 46/32 am clouds/pm sun, chance of rain: 20%
Sunday 51/37 partly cloudy, chance of rain: 10%

Hope that 'warm front' moves in a day early.

Has anyone got busted for this at Darkness Day? Was planning on swapping keys with a buddy to avoid it anyways.

I'm assuming if they were planning on enforcing the law to the letter, all of the people drinking in the street that isn't technically blocked off probably would also get a few tickets.

The Minnesota DWI statute states that one can be arrested for either driving, operating or being in physical control of a motor vehicle. Now, I've never seen the BCPD out checking for this on Darkness Day before, but I'm not going to test my luck. My keys will be with someone else, as courts have ruled that in certain circumstances, possessing keys to a vehicle may be considered physical control.

I hid my keys in the car last year, so I still had them, but nobody looking would have been able to find them easily. Of course, drinking too much might make this a very, very bad idea if you kill the wrong brain cells...
