Although it is also a wet hopped beer I think the flavor profiles are very different. I think the SN has more of a malt forward flavor whereas the Founders really displays hops first and foremost. Both are great beers though, but I think SN is easier to find and likely why it is not as hyped up.

Nothing wrong with looking for a product & getting service. I don't settle, or call daily. I've got my fingers on the pulse of the local beer scene & enough beer store managers know me. Info can't get it here, I trade for it or order online. You can support businesses that poorly operate if you want.

Where have you seen it in Charlotte? I'm driving through on Friday and might have to stop if it's still around.

I've only had Ballast Point and Great Divide's fresh hopped beers, and was disappointed by how grassy they were. Waiting for this to turn up in my neck of the woods in hopes that I'm proven wrong about fresh hopped beers.

I am wondering if this has not hit Northern VA yet, or if it has come and gone.

Grabbed a four-pack today in Madison, drinking it now alongside. Maybe it's just me, but Broo Doo (which I drank the other day) is leagues above Harvest. Something about Harvest just throws me off. The bottle I'm drinking now smells like cleaning products. I've never been crazy about Harvest, but something seems off about this batch. Either that, or I've gotta pull a broken record here and say last year's was better (though still unremarkable compared to pretty much every other wet-hopped ale).

I'm dumb. I am mixing up threads and thought this one was about Sierra Nevada's Harvest... Not Founders. I haven't spotted this one yet.

Because SN Northern Hemisphere is much more available that Founders Harvest Ale. If you have no problem finding something than why start a thread about when and where it's going to be distributed.

I guess I'll just respectfully disagree with your comments.

I really think this is a bad bottle. It just seems off. Even though I'm not head over heels like most of BA, it's still an easy 4.2 or more, and this bottle is about a 3. I still think Broo Doo is a better beer by far, though.

Got it. But I did not know exactly when to expect Northern Hem, and I for one was really looking forward to trying it, especially, as I noted, since it is only .07 points behind Founders Harvest in the BA ratings. So it would have been nice to see a thread announcing and discussing it like so many other new releases enjoy. Also, Founders' stuff is all over the place here in Mass., including Whole Foods markets, perhaps even more common than SN bombers, so I did not appreciate the upcoming limited availability of their Harvest, which I'm thinking now must be as hot (and expensive?) an item as their Devil Dancer was, or their next issue of Backwoods Bastard will be.

Thanks to MikeCactusGordon for pointing out that Founders Harvest is likely to be much better and so much more popular than SN Northern Hem Harvest this year (I had had this year's Southern Hem and loved it, which was why I was looking forward to Northern Hem, even though I realize its taste will be different due to the wet hops), and to Moopband for noting that SN Harvest is more malt forward than Founders Harvest and therefore less popular with today's hop-loving BA majority.
